After three games every single NBA Playoff series was set at 2-1 and yesterday both the Knicks/Pacers and the Nuggets/Timberwolves tied their series at 2-2. Tonight, the Cavaliers and Thunder hope to tie their respective series up at 2-2
Two big games on the slate Monday. We have three NBA props bettors should consider for tonight.
This bet all depends on whether Jarrett Allen will play tonight or not. Allen has missed the last six games due to a rib injury but is still unlikely to suit up. While he has been out, Mobley has stepped in his place at the five and showed out in those six games.
With Mobley now playing the center position rather than at the four, he’s seen every stat increase with Jarrett Allen missing. In those six games, the 6’11 stretch five is averaging over 10 rebounds, and in the three games against Boston scoring at least 17 a game.
Boston also has a fragile interior defense. Without Kristaps Porzingis they are relying on a 37-year-old Al Horford to hold down the paint until KP gets back, so Mobley should be able to attack. In the last series, Bam Adebayo abused the Celtics defense clearing 26.5 points and rebounds every game. Mobley has gone over the line in two out of three this series, expect a big game from him again tonight.
There’s no doubt SGA can score the ball, as the point guard is averaging over 30 points per game. However, since the start of the series against the Mavericks he has flirted with a triple-double and is becoming a complete point guard.
Alexander is skyrocketing over the 13.5 mark in every game this series with 16, 20, and 18 in the last three games and I don’t expect him to slow down in game four. If you look at the Thunder rebounds, they are down for centers and power forwards and up for guards. The 6’6″ point guard is averaging more rebounds this series than their 7’0 center Chet Holmgren against the Mavs.
Both teams also rank top 10 in NBA PACE and points per game. These are two fast, high-powered offensive teams who score a lot, which gives SGA multiple opportunities to record assists. Being down 2-1, SGA won’t take his foot off the gas. He’ll look the same as he did in previous games recording over 13.5 RA.
This goes back to what you read in the SGA prop, pace. Now I know what you’re thinking four rebounds is nothing! Josh Giddey should get this easy. Well, since the beginning of this series, Giddey’s minutes have plummeted. In the last four games, Giddey has recorded four boards only once.
After playing 17 minutes in game one, he played 11 in game two and only 13 in game three. He still scores efficiently but does not match up with the Mavericks offense. Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins have seen their minutes increase.
As I wrote before, the Thunder are starting to let the guard rebound the ball to push the offensive tempo. Giddey does not have many rebound opportunities, and with his minutes decreasing look for him to go under 3.5 rebounds.
