Happy Thursday, all! Tonight is the last night of regular NBA action until next Wednesday, so if you’re looking to get your fix, you better tune in! While there isn’t a massive slate going down tonight, there are still five games taking place that should hold over for the next few days, especially if the All-Star festivities aren’t your thing.
We’ve taken a look at some of the top games from the evening, and have put our top three Underdog player props together hoping to sweep the board After a frustrating 1-2 day yesterday, we’re hungry and ready to get back on the winning side of history. Let’s get into it!
The Dallas Mavericks look like more of a hospital ward than a basketball team these days, with Anthony Davis and Daniel Gafford both suffering injuries less than a week apart from each other. They might not have much star power from their bigs at the moment, but they still have Kyrie Irving, who will do whatever he can to get this team one more win before the break.
They’re taking on the Miami Heat tonight, a team Irving already dropped 27 against, and that was with Luka Doncic still on the roster. Look for Irving to have at least 30 points tonight and put the Mavericks on his back, going over his point projection in this spot.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are coming off another frustrating loss, which seems to be a part of this team’s DNA this season. In some games, they look like they can beat any team in the league, and, as it was against the Milwaukee Bucks last night, they look like they could miss the playoffs. Fortunately, they tend to bounce back, which is why we like their chances of not only beating the Oklahoma City Thunder but for Rudy Gobert having a big game, and achieving a double-double in the process.
Gobert is averaging a double-double per game on the season, but some people might be afraid to take his over here, considering he only had eight points and seven boards against the Thunder earlier in the year while also playing 31 minutes. However, since we project this will be a close game that the Timberwolves win, Gobert should be involved throughout and have no trouble achieving double figures in two categories.
Jimmy Butler’s arrival to the Golden State Warriors couldn’t have come at a better time. The formerly disgruntled Miami Heat star is now thriving in the Bay Area, putting up 20+ points in all three games with the Warriors. They’ve won two of those three games with Butler, who is more motivated than ever to win a title. Butler has put up big scoring numbers despite not hitting a three-pointer, and if he keeps getting fouled as much as he has been, achieving 21+ PPG shouldn’t be a hard task, which we project him to do again tonight against the Houston Rockets.
