And then there were two. Series, that is, as the Minnesota Timberwolves took care of business against the Golden State Warriors, securing their place in the Western Conference Finals for the second straight season. Who will join them remains to be seen, but we could find out tonight.
The Oklahoma City Thunder has a 3-2 lead over the Denver Nuggets, hoping to fulfill their destiny and match up with the Wolves. Can the Nuggets force a pivotal Game 7? That remains to be seen, but we’re certainly excited to see how tonight’s contest will go down.
We’re coming off a red-hot night on player props, hitting all three that we provided for last night’s showdown between the Wolves and the Warriors. Let’s head on over to Underdog to put our top picks together from this game, looking for another sweep!
If there was ever a night for Nikola Jokic to go nuclear, it would be tonight. This is a must-win game for the Nuggets, and considering they’re in front of their home crowd, we don’t think Jokic is going to disappoint them.
He has only put up 29+ points in two games this series, but considering he dropped 44 in Game 5, there’s no reason for us not to believe in him. He’s been fantastic in important games throughout his career, and we’re certainly hoping for more of the same in this one.
Isaiah Hartenstein has his work cut out for him every game, as he’s tasked with being the big man opposite Jokic throughout this series. Jokic can wear defenders down, but Hartenstein has held his own in the paint, racking up rebounds and points when possible.
While he’s been great in those two areas, Hartenstein isn’t necessarily a big threat when it comes to distributing the ball. His assist numbers aren’t typically that impressive, as he’s only had four or more in two games this series.
His teammates are more apt to having big games in this category, so for that reason, we’re fading him until he proves to be more consistent.
Christian Braun is one of the most unsung heroes on the Nuggets. He’s not always a starter, but when he’s in the game, he gives his team 110% of his energy, a type of athlete that coaches love to have on the floor.
He can score when given the opportunity, but he’s most valuable as a rebounder. His hustle usually pays off in a big way, giving the Nuggets more chances on offense, or getting them a quick transition after the opposition misses a shot.
Look for Braun’s athleticism to be on full display in this one, achieving at least six rebounds.
