NBA Tuesday Betting Preview: 3 Predictions and Player Props for April 8

Post Final Four, let’s take a look at Tuesday’s NBA action which features two massive Western Conference matchups. The Phoenix Suns are burning up in front of our eyes and tonight, Brandin Podziemski and the Warriors have a chance to put them out of their misery.

In Oklahoma City, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder are looking for revenge against the Lakers after L.A. dominated OKC on their home floor just two nights ago.

AJ Johson (WAS) OVER 11.5 Points

The Wizards are four games out from closing up a season to forget. With a back-to-back against Indiana and Philadelphia on tap, Washington should look to their young playmakers to try and take over some parts of these games, looking for any positives.

Against Boston, Bub Carrington and AJ Johnson played 41 and 34 minutes respectively, dropping 14 and 12 points. Against a much softer defense and fast-paced Indiana offense, Bub and especially newly acquired AJ Johnson should be able to get some more 1v1 matchups and create for themselves. Johnson has hit this mark three times in his L5.

Brandin Podziemski (GSW) 25+ Points (+1060)

We are looking at two long-shot bets in the late window on Tuesday night, including targeting the red-hot Brandin Podziemski against Brad Beal and the Suns in that potential high-scoring matchup.

With the Suns season on the line, I expect them to ‘pretend to try’ and stop Steph Curry from ending their play-in hopes. That will once again open up the door for Podz to make an impact.

BP has dropped 27/8/28/26/19 in his L5 and at +1060 odds to score 25+ against a Suns defense that can allow points in bunches, this is a solid high reward play.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC) 40+ Points (+400)

Yea, that isn’t happening twice. OKC lost by 27 points on Sunday at home to the Lakers. They shot 12 free throws as a team and Shai shot zero with a plus/minus of -20. That loss felt personal.

Los Angeles and Redick destroyed the Thunder game plan and got out to a quick 22-point lead at halftime on the Thunder’s home floor. After taking no free throws and playing a rather passive game for his standards, Shai will come out tonight to not only win this ball game, but to send a message to the rest of the West.

If he doesn’t put up at least 35 and the Thunder don’t win this game convincingly tonight, the media will be all over this team heading into the postseason. The pressure is on, and I think Shai will embrace it and put together a world-class game tonight in front of the home fans.
