The Warriors have another chance to wrap this series up and move on to Minnesota tonight at Chase Center. Golden State doesn’t drop two in a row in the playoffs under Steve Kerr, and after two straight Steph Curry duds, expect a vintage performance from Curry and Draymond en route to a big win for the newly tabbed title contenders.
After pulling his starters midway through the 3rd quarter of Game 5, Steve Kerr will have his troops back in action with fresh energy and a vengeance tonight in Game 6 at home. Kerr is one of the best adjusters in the league, and with Draymond Green playing at a DPOY level, I don’t think Houston can fool this GSW core any longer.
A big game from Curry and Green is on tap while Brandin Podziemski should get back to his winning ways on both ends of the floor. Since the start of the ‘23 season, Golden State hasn’t dropped back-to-back games against Houston in 13 games played.
Steph Curry has gone for two straight stinkers prop-wise. After a 17-point, 3-assist performance in the tight Game 4 win, he dropped just 13 points and 7 dimes on -19 +/- in the blowout Game 5 victory.
Expect a bounce back here, mostly due to a solid trend. Since the Warriors made their way back into the postseason post-Klay and Curry injury era, Curry hasn’t gone below the 30.5 PA mark in three straight games. No way this happens tonight in a potential clinch-and-advance scenario at Chase Center.
Amen Thompson has played better and better since his first career playoff series began. Playing almost 32 MPG for Udoka’s Rockets in this series, Amen is a unicorn on both sides of the ball. In Game 5, he broke out for 25 points, 6 boards, and 3 dimes in Houston’s big-time victory to keep them alive another day.
Tonight, he will serve as both a key rebounder and playmaker for this team that hasn’t received a lot of help on the playmaking side from Jalen Green. This prop has been hit in 3 of 5 games for Thompson, including twice in The Bay. While he won’t drop 25 points again, expect Amen to be productive in other ways as he can do it all on both sides of the court.
