Teams are already starting to separate themselves despite being less than a month into the NBA season. In the east, the Cleveland Cavaliers (12-0) will look to keep their perfect streak intact while the Boston Celtics (9-3) are right on their heels.
The Western Conference is slightly different. Three teams are tied for the best record in the conference as the Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns, and Oklahoma City Thunder have all started the year with a 9-2 mark.
Can the best teams in the West continue their hot streak? We’ll examine the late Wednesday games in today’s edition of the four best NBA player prop bets for Wednesday, November 13.
The Los Angeles Lakers started the year off strong in head coach J.J. Redick’s debut, but the Lakers have lost four of their last seven games. Tonight, the team finds itself battling for positioning with the Memphis Grizzlies, the team just above them in the standings.
Lakers guard Austin Reeves has not been the reason for the team’s recent dip. The 6-foot-5 shooter has poured in 20.6 points behind his nearly three three-point field goals each night. While his shooting percentage has declined, his attempts have increased. With Reeves shooting nearly nine treys each night, expect him to cover this player prop bet.
Sticking with that same game, the Memphis Grizzlies have won five of their past six outings and are being led by power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. The 6-foot-10 athlete is making his presence felt this year, averaging 21.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and an assist per game this year.
Jackson has been proficient at rebounding this month, increasing his average as he’s pulled down at least five rebounds each night. Expect him to match his November average of 6.0 rebounds per game tonight and cover this player prop bet.
Phoenix is tied with two other teams for the conference lead, and there’s a chance to take the lead in the conference with a win tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Suns are in this lofty position thanks to shooting guard Devin Booker.
The former Kentucky player is averaging fewer points this year than at any point since his rookie season, but he’s also started with the best assists-per-game total in his career. He’s elevating his teammates’ scoring opportunities thus far, and he’ll do the same tonight to cover this player prop bet on Wednesday.
Minnesota is learning how to play together, evidenced by the Timberwolves 6-5 record through the team’s first 11 games. That’s due to Karl-Anthony Towns leaving town and Julius Randle developing a relationship with his new team.
For the third time in four games, Minnesota will face off against the Portland Trailblazers. In the outing last night, guard Anthony Edwards was held to 26 points as he shot just over 40 percent from the field. Expect him to light fire tonight to avoid a three-game losing streak and score 30 or more points against the Trailblazers.
