Happy Tuesday to all! Last night wasn’t the greatest for NBA fans, as there was only one game on the schedule. That one game ended up being a dramatic one that came down to the wire, but it was the only option of the night.
Tonight is another light night regarding scheduling, but both games should be exciting and keep fans engaged, as it’s an NBA Cup night! The first matchup is between the Orlando Magic and the Milwaukee Bucks, and the second is between the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder.
There might be just two games going down, but after studying Underdog’s board, we’ve assembled our favorite player props from this two-game slate, confident that plenty of value is available. Let’s get into it!
Giannis Antetokounmpo is having a great season, which is why it might seem bold to take his under in this game. He’s scored 30+ in six of his past seven games, which might indicate that we should take the over.
However, Giannis has historically struggled against the Magic, only scoring 21.9 points per game We’re projecting around 25 or 26 points from the Greek Freak tonight, and we’re ultimately taking the under. Look for Damian Lillard and Brook Lopez to contribute more in the scoring column tonight as a result.
We are pretty surprised to see how high Wendell Carter Jr’s point total was for tonight’s game, especially since he has only achieved 11+ points in two of his past eight appearances.
Carter is a great player with a lot of promise, but he could struggle to get on the board in the points category tonight. Giannis and Lopez will make it hard for him to have much success in the paint, which is where he tends to get most of his points.
As a result, we’re fading Carter’s point total in this one, taking the under. We need to see it to believe it from him, and in a tough matchup against the Bucks, we can’t trust him to deliver an 11+ point outing.
Klay Thompson has been a valuable contributor to the Dallas Mavericks this season. He’s been a great addition alongside Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, a crucial piece to what the team hopes will be a deep postseason run.
While Thompson isn’t necessarily lighting it up from his total points scored, he continues to be fantastic from beyond the arc. In a must-win game tonight, look for Thompson to make at least three three-pointers, something he’s achieved in three of his past four contests.
