Our 3 Favorite MLB Prop Bets for Tuesday, June 20

As we climb closer to the All-Star break, two teams have separated themselves from the rest of the pack. The Tampa Bay Rays are 51-24 and are on pace for over 100 wins. The Atlanta Braves appear to be the class of the NL and are 46-26.

Need some extra MLB action on Tuesday? Check out our 3 favorite MLB prop bets for June 20 below. Let’s cash some gametime tickets, fellow sports investors!

Gerrit Cole OVER 7.5 Strikeouts -130 (WynnBet)

Cole has been on a major roll since Opening Day, and he’s shown no signs of slowing down. The Yankees ace has struck out 98 hitters in 91.2 innings of work this season. Cole’s strikeout rate is 26.4%,  which is almost 5% higher than the MLB average of 21.7%.

We typically shy away from betting on star pitchers to go over their strikeout total, but this matchup against the Mariners is too good to pass on. Seattle ranks 29th in baseball in strikeout rate (9.74 Ks per game).

Cole is also in excellent current form. He struck out 8 against the Mets last week through 6 innings. Look for him to carve up this M’s lineup quite easily tonight. Play the Over!

Seth Lugo OVER 3.5 Strikeouts -113 (Unibet)

This play is more of a fade of San Fran’s lineup than it is a play on Lugo. The 33-year-old journeyman isn’t much of a strikeout pitcher, and he’s only fanning 21.4% of hitters this year.

That being said, the Giants rank 28th in MLB in strikeout rate, so this number looks to be a strikeout too low. Lugo doesn’t have overpowering stuff, but his curveball can be pretty nasty at times.

Look for guys like JD Davis, Thairo Estrada, and Michael Conforto to have trouble with that pitch if Lugo is dialed in. All three of those Giant hitters have amassed more than 60 strikeouts this season.

Jordan Montgomery UNDER 4.5 Strikeouts -122 (FanDuel)

This Nats team is pretty bad, but one thing they do well is put the ball in play. Washington leads all of baseball in strikeout rate as a team. They only fan 6.96 times per game, which is pretty incredible.

Jordan Montgomery is a serviceable lefty for St. Louis, but he’s definitely not a strikeout guy. In fact, Monty only ranks in the 42nd percentile in K-rate this season.

The only sure-thing strikeout guy in the Nats lineup is right fielder Lane Thomas, who has struck out a whopping 76 times already this season. However, we still think Monty exits with 4 Ks or less in this one. Play the Under!
