NBA Friday Betting Guide: 3 Player Props for February 21
End your week off strong with three of the best Friday night prop plays in NBA action. In Washington, Bub Carrington has been flying under the radar as one of the best offensive playmaking rookies this season, hitting his 18.5 PRA prop in each of his last five outings.
Elsewhere, Brandin Podzemski should have a big second-half impact for the Golden State Warriors, who will play in a high-scoring back-and-forth battle tonight against rival Sacramento.
F Dillon Brooks (HOU) OVER 2.5 3PM
As much as Brooks is an annoying instigator, he’s had a positive impact on the Houston Rockets’ revitalization this season. DB has hit 2.4 3s per contest over the course of this season and since the New Year.
In two games against the Wolves this season, he’s hit three and four shots from behind the arc, respectively. With this defense keying in on Jalen Green and Sengun, there will be open opportunities for the veteran wing who shoots the 3-ball just a tad better at home (near the 40% mark). In a high-scoring, high-paced affair, take Brooks to reach his ‘over’ in the Rockets’ return against Minny.
G Bub Carrington (WAS) OVER 18.5 PRA
Playing around 30 minutes per game since New Year’s, Bub Carrington is the rookie to watch for the remainder of this season. The 6’5 point guard is a matchup nightmare and can do it all on the offensive end, scoring 9.1 PPG on 41/35/82 shooting splits in his first season in Washington.
He takes on a Milwaukee team today allowing the most PPG and 2nd most RPG to the point guard position. Although Carrington hasn’t performed well against the Bucks yet in their two matchups pre-All-Star break, Milwaukee is coming off a hard-fought win last night against the Clippers and on no rest, head to Washington for what seems to be a trap game. Bub has gone for 18.5 PRA or more in each of his last five games before the break.
G Brandin Podziemski (GSW) OVER 5.5 Rebounds
Brandin Podziemski is a rebounding machine in the backcourt and against a Sacramento team that plays at a high pace and shoots a ton of shots, this is a great spot for the second-year guard. Podz secured 5.7 rebounds in February games before ASB, playing 31.5 MPG during this month so far.
The departure of Andrew Wiggins has opened up a slot for Podzemski to act as an initiator, going 9/7/12/12/15 rebounds & assists over his last five.
Expect many more minutes given to one of the best backcourt rebounders in the association over the next few months as Golden State gears towards their postseason run.
