Best Player Prop Bets for CFB Week 8

We did well last week with our College Football bets. Had Caleb Williams played even close to a Heisman candidate, we would have swept the board.

Michael Penix’s passing yardage total soared under as we predicted, and J.J. McCarthy did JUST enough to hit the over on his passing yards. That one was a massive sweat.

With last week’s success in mind, let’s take that knowledge into the slate this week. After reviewing the games this weekend, we have put together our three favorite player props and are excited to share them with you. Let’s get into it!

Marvin Harrison Jr OVER 82.5 Receiving Yards

Have you ever seen the movie, “Kicking and Screaming”? If not, let me give you a refresher. Will Ferell and Mike Ditka are the head coaches of a youth soccer team, trying their best to make it to the top of the table.

Their motto throughout the majority of the movie is, “Get the ball to the Italians.” Two Italian players are the stars of their team, and without them, they would be nothing.

In a weird, kind of related way, this is how I feel about Marvin Harrison Jr. every week of the College Football season. He has been a fantastic safety blanket for the Ohio State offense, and while they have additional receiving weapons, Harrison is the No. 1 option.

He has eclipsed 100 receiving yards in all but two games this season. There’s little reason for us to doubt that he’ll go under 82.5 yards this week given his track record. Look for a masterclass performance from Harrison this week against Penn State.

Joe Milton III OVER 1.5 Passing Touchdowns

This was the first play to stick out to me this week. For one, Underdog has juiced this play to 1.25x, an opportunity for us to get more money into our pockets this week.

Milton has thrown two or more touchdowns in four of six starts this season, and we’re expecting this game between Tennessee and Alabama to be a dogfight.

Alabama has the number 11 defense in the country, allowing just 16 points per game. While this might scare some people away from taking Milton’s line here, we’re embracing it, especially since it’s boosted.

Athan Kaliakmanis UNDER 120.5 Passing Yards

While we’re confident in Milton’s abilities to overcome a strong Alabama defense, the same cannot be said about Athan Kaliakmanis and the Minnesota Gophers. The Gophers face off against the Iowa Hawkeyes this weekend, which could be a slow day for offensive production.

The Hawkeyes allow 14.9 PPG this season, and the Over/Under for this one is currently set at 31.5. This is one of the lowest over/unders in CFB history, and I’m honestly surprised this number isn’t lower.

Kaliakmanis has struggled against lesser defenses, and against Michigan last week, he only totaled 52 passing yards. Look for a similar struggle this week, which is why we recommend the under on his passing yards.
