UFC 308 Betting Preview: Live Odds, 2 Parlays, and Best Bet for Saturday, October 26

We are BACK in Abu Dhabi this weekend as UFC 308 gives our weekend here in the States an early start time! There’s nothing better than early UFC fights with college football going at the same time!

We have a massive card this weekend with a ton of exciting matchups and our members have a heavy card this pay-per-view. Let’s get into my favorite picks and let’s make some money this weekend!

Murphy & Orolbai Should Find Victories Here

Lerone Murphy is my second most confident pick this week. I love what he showed us in the Barboza fight, he is tough and very polished! Murphy has multiple paths to victory in this fight, which I always love to back. He is a solid striker that can mix in grappling very well.

Murphy lands over 5 significant strikes per minute while only absorbing half of that. He has incredible defense and has a high fighting IQ. Ige is experienced and respected, and this fight could definitely go later in the rounds, but Murphy should be able to take this fight where he wants and outpoint Ige.

Myktybek Orolbai is just different and I think we will see another display of excellent grappling in this one. Both are very good at takedowns and grappling, but I give the edge here to Orolbai. He should be the stronger fighter here in the grappling department, with better cardio.

I trust Orolbai to get through tough situations and if he finds himself on his back, I trust he will withstand that and find a crafty way to turn it into a positive. He is relentless, he is a dog, and I think he will overwhelm Rebecki in the end.

The Shara Bullet Train Continues

This is going to be a tough fight for Shara and to win by decision play is not a bad look here either! Shara is a very good striker that uses his kicks very well. He has good takedown defense and when pressed against the cage he knows how to keep his opponents from getting him to the ground.

This fight though, I see staying on the feet for the majority of the fight. Armen Petrosyan is also a striker and kickboxer who will move forward with pressure while throwing strikes at you. He has very good striking defense and avoids punishing blows well, but he can take damage with his style of forward pressure.

Shara is excellent at finding his range for his strikes and he is always waiting to fire back. Armen could find himself in positions that allow Shara to rack up too much damage and I think Shara will ultimately get the decision in this one. Both are definitely live for KOs so tread lightly on this one!

Heavy Favorite with a Heavy Backing

For those that follow me closely, or are a part of my premium group, they know I do not play lines like this. But I do believe there is a time and a place, and this is one of them. Usually in the UFC, if I like two favorites enough, I will pair them for better odds. Ilia feels like a straight bet, and I don’t want to risk anyone else with him in this spot.

His line was -230 when taking this wager, and if you are a $100 bettor, you have to wager at least that $230+ to win back 1 unit or $100 in profit. I am playing to win 1.5 units in profit on this main event. This is one of my most confident picks I have had in a while and it is a rather tough one because in these spots, usually the more experienced and polished fighter finds a way to win, more times than not.

Ilia is on a different level right now. He is the best striker/boxer in this division, he is quicker and more powerful than Holloway, and we saw what Holloway looked like in his wars with Volkanovski. He lost all 3 of those fights and Ilia dismantled Volkanovski in their fight and while I think a finish is less likely here, he should be able to win by damage over 5 rounds. Parlay him with Ankalaev or Basharat for better odds if you would like!
