Jets vs Browns: 2 Best Bets for the Hall of Fame Game

We are finally getting our 1st taste of football action of the year this Thursday. While we are not going to see much, if any, work from starters on either team, it will still be nice to see action on the gridiron.

Are you ready for Jets vs Browns? Get our 2 Best Bets for the Hall of Fame Game right here! Good luck!

Best Bet: Jets -1.5 (DraftKings)

An interesting piece to handicapping this game is the recent comments made by Denver head coach Sean Payton. He was critical of Nathaniel Hackett and the job he did last season in Denver.

Hackett, now the offensive coordinator for the Jets, could use this as a bit of motivation to put up some points here and shut Payton up a bit. However, he is going to need to do so with his 3rd and 4th stringers.

The good news for Hackett is that one of those men is Chris Streveler. The 4th string QB played a big part in the Jets’ preseason last year and helped them reach a 3-0 record against the spread. While he can make things happen in the passing game, the bigger piece may be his ability to run when a play breaks down.

That was lacking in Hackett’s team last season, as Russell Wilson seemingly refused to use his legs. Not only will the Jets have a nice option at QB late in the game, but they will also have a couple of strong running backs in Michael Carter and Zonovan Knight.

Best Bet: OVER 33.5 Points (Caesars)

If the Browns plan to pull this one out, it will likely be because of their defense. They have several younger players that will be looking to make some head turns in order to make the final 52-man roster.

Most of those players will be on the defensive side of the ball. With our ATS thoughts pushing us to the Jets, it is just logical to take the over as well since we believe it would be the Browns that benefited from keeping this game in the 20s.
