3 MLB Strikeout Props for Thursday, August 3

After a rough Wednesday, we’re ready to turn the page and start winning again. MacKenzie Gore came up just a half-strikeout short on our over 5.5 bet. The Nats pulled him after only 89 pitches, which was more than a bit frustrating.

Wade Miley came out dealing and crushed our Under bet. Logan Webb got exactly 5 strikeouts to push that selection. Goodness, what a rough day!

Let’s get back on track with 3 MLB Strikeout Props for Thursday, August 3. Good luck with all of your bets today.

Brady Singer Under 4.5 Strikeouts +100 (DraftKings)

Singer has had two really solid outings, but we think he regresses back to the mean today against the Mets. New York may have been major sellers at the deadline, but they mainly gutted their pitching staff.

Most of the lineup remains intact, and this team just doesn’t strike out a ton (4th lowest in MLB vs RHP). Jeff McNeil has been especially tough to strike out, as he has one of the lowest K-percentages in baseball.

Singer has some potential, but he’s only struck out 19.9% of batters this year, which only puts him in the 27th percentile in baseball. His median K number this year has been 4, and we think that’s where he’ll end today in this early afternoon tilt.

Shohei Ohtani Over 7.5 Strikeouts -130 (BetMGM)

I don’t know what BetMGM is doing with this line, but I’ll jump on it. FanDuel, Caesars, and Unibet all have this in the -150s, so I’ll bite. Ohtani has insanely good stuff and is facing one of the most K-prone teams in baseball (Seattle).

Ohtani’s K-rate is currently sitting at 32%, which puts him in the 94th percentile. He struck out 8 versus the Mariners back on April 5th, which shows that he knows how to keep this lineup off balance.

Speaking of the M’s lineup, they have 4 guys with K-rates above 26%. Shohei should dominate, so we’ll take the Over!

Bryan Woo Over 5.5 Strikeouts -128 (FanDuel)

FanDuel is being nice by dealing this line because all other books have it priced at 6.5. Woo has a good fastball and a sinker that drops off the table when he’s on. His K-rate of 25.8% isn’t too shabby, either.

Woo faced this same Angels team back on June 10th, and he struck out 7. He can definitely repeat that performance tonight. The Halos have the 2nd-highest K-rate in baseball over the last 2 weeks.
