The latest news in sports betting is that ESPN has recently signed a licensing deal with Penn Entertainment to create ESPN BET, an exclusive sportsbook for sports bettors in the United States. This move represents ESPN’s latest venture into sports gaming, building on years of providing daily multiplatform betting-focused shows, running odds on its website and TV programs, and covering the gaming industry across our digital platforms.
Set to launch in the fall of 2023, ESPN BET will be a rebranding of Penn’s current sportsbook (Barstool Sportsbook) in the 16 states where it is licensed. This includes Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. The rebranded offering will comprise a mobile app, website, mobile website, and mutually agreed-upon retail locations. We don’t know which locations just yet, but we’ll keep you updated.
It appears they are investing heavily in this partnership, with Penn agreeing to pay us $1.5 billion in cash over the next ten years. That’s a bit more than what they paid Barstool Sports. Penn will grant ESPN $500 million of warrants to purchase approximately 31.8 million common shares of Penn. There are also options to receive bonus warrants depending on the performance of ESPN BET. This seems like a lucrative deal for both sides.
The strategy behind ESPN BET is simple: they want to give ESPN fans what they’ve been asking for. Sports fans want engaging betting content and the ability to place bets without friction from within their products. As ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro stated, they aim to leverage each company’s strengths “to create the type of experience that existing and new bettors will expect from both companies.”
At first, it may seem like ESPN might be blurring the lines between pure entertainment and sports betting. However, their commitment to responsible gaming remains paramount. They’ll continue to cover the sports betting space through their news and information outlets, and they’re developing an ESPN committee of responsible gaming.
Like many other online sportsbooks, they’ll implement responsible marketing policies and guidelines to safeguard our fans and work with industry experts on best practices for responsible gaming programming. Stay tuned for more updates on the exciting launch of ESPN BET!
One thing we love when new sportsbooks jump into the online sports betting world is the promotions that are sure to follow. We don’t know which bonuses the ESPN BET sportsbook will offer, but we expect ESPN BET to deliver one of the typical new registration bonuses—
Which of these bonuses can you get during the ESPN BET launch? We don’t know, but it is exciting to think about. As with most new sportsbooks (we get it, it’s not necessarily new, just a newly branded sportsbook from the Barstool Sportsbook app), we tend to see pre-registration bonuses. We’ll update you with any promotions we hear about for the ESPN BET platform.
Since ESPN BET has not yet launched, no promo codes exist. But we can give you an idea of how it will work when the time comes.
When you create your account with ESPN BET, you’ll input any bonus code needed to access the promotion offered during signup. This code must usually be entered simultaneously with your personal information, like name and address.
Depending on the type of bonus you receive, you may need to deposit or place a certain number of bets before the bonus funds are credited. This often takes around 24-72 hours.
Once the bonus has been credited, it’s yours to use as you please. You can use it to bet on your favorite sports teams and events in whatever way you like.
With ESPN BET set to launch later this year, many wonder where to access this exciting new sportsbook. Since Barstool Sports was in 16 states, we think ESPN will launch their online sportsbook in the same states – plus a bonus state that just legalized online sports betting.
The availability of ESPN BET in these states depends on regulatory approval, but that shouldn’t be a problem, given Penn Entertainment already has a foothold in these states. We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
We’re huge fans of ESPN and don’t expect ESPN BET to fall too far from the tree. ESPN has a team of experienced professionals that know what it takes to make an excellent sportsbook app. Their app should offer a great user experience and comprehensive betting options for all bettors—from beginners to seasoned vets. Bet for a multitude of reasons.
The sheer variety of sports and events available to bet on will be astonishing. From global favorites like football and basketball to niche sports such as darts and curling, we believe there will be something for every sports fan. After all, ESPN is the global leader in sports; we think the ESPN BET Sportsbook app will follow suit.
Ever downloaded the ESPN app? If the ESPN BET mobile app is half as polished as the ESPN app, we can expect a great experience. The UI should be simple and include plenty of features to help users place their bets quickly and easily.
Competitive odds are another major area we look at and hope to see during the ESPN BET sportsbook launch in 2023. We expect various betting lines and promotions that reward loyal customers with bonuses, free bets, and more.
Can ESPN BET compete with DraftKings Sportsbook or FanDuel Sportsbook? If they offer competitive odds and a few promotions, we think they can. Let’s wait and see what emerges regarding the ESPN BET sportsbook.
The one area that several sportsbooks overlook is customer support. We hope that ESPN BET will go the extra mile and provide customers with reliable and timely customer support. This could be through live chat, email, or social media channels like Twitter.
Having a team of experienced professionals available to help customers when needed can make a huge difference in their overall user experience. Between the big names of Penn Entertainment and ESPN, we think the customer service may be among the best in the online sports betting industry.
The betting app has not launched yet, but we do have a basic idea of what to expect. After all, we’ve been reviewing online sportsbook promo codes for years and have seen many sportsbooks come and go. Some of the best features that sports betting apps integrate into their platforms include—
If ESPN BET launches with half of these features, we believe it will be a significant player in the US sports betting industry.
There are so many “unknowns” when it comes to ESPN BET, but we’re doing everything possible to get ahead of it for you. With the ESPN BET launch on the horizon, we’ve put together a few FAQs to help you learn more about the ESPN BET sportsbook.
ESPN BET is an upcoming online sportsbook. It’s a platform where you can place bets on various sports events, from popular games like football and basketball to niche sports like darts and curling. It will provide competitive odds, various betting markets, and special promotions to enhance your betting experience.
While we cannot confirm this until ESPN BET officially launches, we expect it to be available in several states where online sports betting is legal. This includes Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. These are the states Barstool Sportsbook operates in until they’re rebranded to ESPN BET. In addition to these states, you’ll also need to be of legal betting age in the state to play at ESPN BET.
While the specific promotions haven’t been announced yet, we anticipate that ESPN BET will offer a variety of bonuses and promotions. This may include a sign-up bonus for new users, deposit bonuses, bonus bets, and other special promotions. On top of that, if they want to stay competitive in the industry, they’ll have to offer a loyalty program. When the ESPN BET promo code is released, you’ll hear about it from us first.
While we don’t have confirmation yet, most online sportsbooks have a mobile app for the convenience of their users. We expect ESPN BET to follow suit and offer a user-friendly mobile app for iOS and Android devices. The rest of the ESPN mobile apps are well-polished, so we don’t expect the ESPN BET app to be any different.
We expect ESPN Bet to offer a wide range of betting options. You’ll likely be able to place standard bets like match winners and more complex bets like player props. You can also expect live betting options where you can place bets during the game. We love live betting because it adds a layer of excitement and makes watching sports more enjoyable.
Yes, we believe ESPN BET will be a safe platform to use for online betting. Penn Entertainment has been in the business for decades, and ESPN is one of the most respected names in sports media. We believe they’ll meet all the regulatory requirements and use a secure platform to protect your data.
The ESPN BET promo code has not been released yet. We will update this section when it’s available, so stay tuned for more information regarding bonus codes and other promotions. In the meantime, you can take advantage of our exclusive deals from other online sportsbooks.
The specific deposit methods will be confirmed when ESPN BET launches. However, most online sportsbooks accept various payment methods. This typically includes credit/debit cards, bank transfers, e-wallets like PayPal and Neteller, and sometimes cryptocurrency.
We’re going to hold off on giving a rating for ESPN BET promotions until they’re released. Until then, you should take advantage of other sportsbooks’ existing bonuses and promotions. Our reviews of these sportsbooks will give you an idea of what to expect when ESPN BET launches.
