Marta Kostyuk vs Linda Noskova Prediction: Wimbledon 2026 Semifinal Preview, Odds and Best Bet
The second Wimbledon women’s semifinal on Thursday guarantees something rare: a first-time Grand Slam finalist. Twelfth-seeded Marta Kostyuk faces ninth-seeded Linda Noskova on Centre Court, and whoever wins will be playing for a maiden major title on Saturday. Neither has been here before, which makes this one of the more unpredictable matches left in the draw.
Two Breakout Runs Colliding
Kostyuk reached this stage by beating Jasmine Paolini 6-3, 6-2 in the quarterfinals, a dominant showing in which she won 89% of her first-serve points and 73% of her second-serve points. It’s her second consecutive Grand Slam semifinal after also reaching the final four at the French Open earlier this year, where she lost to Mirra Andreeva. She’s now two wins away from a first major title, and she’s done it by winning the opening set in all but one match at the Championships this year while converting three or more break points in every match on her way to the semis.
Noskova’s path here is just as notable. The Czech, who improved to 10-1 on grass this season, beat Elise Mertens 6-3, 7-5 in the quarterfinals, winning 80% of her first-serve points and firing seven aces. It’s her first career Grand Slam semifinal, and she did it without being broken a single time against Mertens — the first time all tournament she’d held serve throughout an entire match.
A Head-to-Head Still Being Written
These two have only met once, and it came earlier this year at the Madrid Open quarterfinals, where Kostyuk won 7-6(1), 6-0. Kostyuk hit 70% of her first serves in that meeting and converted seven break-point chances, a similarly dominant performance to what she showed against Paolini. But that match came on clay, and Thursday’s semifinal will be the first time the two have faced off on grass — a surface that can flip matchups in a hurry given the shorter points and reduced rally length.
Both players are part of a semifinal lineup that features three women under the age of 25, the most under-25 Wimbledon semifinalists since 2014. That youth movement adds an unpredictable element to a match where recent grass-court form may matter more than the lone prior meeting. Prediction and Best Bet
Kostyuk’s serve has been the standout weapon of her tournament, and her ability to win the opening set consistently gives her control over the terms of these matches. Noskova’s grass-court form this season is impressive, and her clean service performance against Mertens suggests she’s peaking at the right time, but Kostyuk’s experience from a second straight Grand Slam semifinal — plus her lone head-to-head win, albeit on a different surface — gives her a slight edge in a match that should be tightly contested.
- Prediction: Marta Kostyuk advances in three sets
- Best Bet: Kostyuk to win the first set
Kostyuk’s habit of winning the opening set all tournament long, combined with her big-match composure in her second straight major semifinal, makes her the safer lean in an otherwise wide-open matchup. Check out our full sportsbook reviews for more ways to bet the rest of the Wimbledon fortnight.
