The 2025 NHL 4 Nations Face-Off comes to an epic showdown tomorrow night as Canada and USA meet in a highly anticipated rematch for the tournament championship. These 2 powerhouses delivered an electric battle in the round-robin stage where some analysts were saying it was the best hockey game they’ve ever seen. However, with everything on the line as the 4 Nations Face Off wraps up, we’re expecting another intense showdown.
With Connor Hellebuyck and Jordan Binnington in the net, plus a few key American injuries, this could be a tight, defensive battle.
That makes pick’ems even more intriguing, and we’ve picked out 5 of the best Underdog Fantasy picks for the final.
MacKinnon has been Canada’s most dangerous forward in this tournament and it’s easy to see why. Using his elite speed and dangerous write shot to generate chances, he had a goal against Finland and was on fire all game.
With Cale Makar back in the lineup, we also think that Canada’s power play should be more effective, and MacKinnon will be one of the main beneficiaries.
He also had 6 shots on goal in the first matchup vs. USA. If he gets that kind of volume again, and we don’t see why he couldn’t, it’s just a matter of time before he buries one between the pipes..
Hellebuyck has been nothing short of spectacular for Team USA and even that might be an understatement.
He made 31 saves against Canada in the first game and has been a brick wall throughout the tournament. Expectations were high for him coming into the 4 Nations Face Off and we can safely say he has delivered so far.
With the Americans dealing with injuries to Auston Matthews, Brady Tkachuk, and Charlie McAvoy, their defense may struggle to contain Canada’s insane offensive firepower. That means Hellebuyck will undoubtedly be tested and need to stand on his head once again.
Canada will be pushing the pace, and that should easily lead to another 30+ save performance from one of the world’s best netminders.
Matthews has been dealing with some upper body soreness throughout the tournament and missed the game against Sweden. However, even if he plays against the Canadians tomorrow night, he likely won’t be at full strength. He managed just 3 shots in the first game against Canada, and that was when he was a bit healthier.
With Canada expected to control possession and the tempo of this game, Matthews might not get the same scoring opportunities he usually does.
If he’s playing through any discomfort, which he likely will, his shooting volume could take a hit, making the LESS pick a smart play.
McDavid has been playing at an elite level in this tournament which is really no surprise to us. While he hasn’t racked up goals, he’s been an absolute playmaking machine. He’s picking up an assist in each of Canada’s last 2 games and we don’t see him slowing down for this monster matchup..
With Makar returning and Canada’s power play steadily improving, McDavid should have even more opportunities to rack up some assists. If Canada finds the back of the net multiple times, we think it’s hard to imagine McDavid not getting in on the action with a helper at least once.
Hughes has been USA’s most consistent playmaker, and that has been especially true with Matthews banged up.
He has at least 1 point in every game of the tournament so far, and even in a low-scoring game, he’s way too talented to be held off the scoresheet.
With Canada expected to score first, USA will need Hughes to step up and create some steady and persistent offense. Whether it’s a goal or an assist, picking Hughes to grab at least a point is a solid value play.
With Canada looking to get their revenge and USA trying to gut it out through a few injuries, this final should be another intense battle.
Hellebuyck will be undoubtedly tested, Canada’s stars will be pushing the pace, and USA’s top players will have to step up in a big way despite not being at 100%.
These Underdog Fantasy picks are some of the best for the 4 Nations Face Off Championship game. Lock them in and enjoy what should be an unforgettable North American game.
