After a shocking loss to the Cardinals at home, the 2-3 49ers who have had their fair share of offensive struggles travel north to take on the division-leading 3-2 Seattle Seahawks.
Look for veteran wideouts Deebo Samuel and Tyler Lockett to come up with some big plays against familiar foes.
In 6 games against Seattle throughout his career, Samuel has scored 6 total touchdowns – 3 through the air and 3 on the ground.
Without CMC for this one, look for Kyle Shanahan to get creative inside the red zone after their issues over the last few weeks in this area.
Deebo Samuel is one of the top red zone assets in the league and after a rather quiet season so far, this is Samuel’s potential breakout game in what seems to be a must-win for the 49ers early on in the season.
The 49ers have held Walker in check over the last few seasons, allowing 24 carries to go for just 78 yards in three games.
Although Ken Walker had two unbelievable performances on the ground, the 49ers are bound to play with an edge this game after getting embarrassed by the Arizona run game last week in an upset loss at home.
While KW might have a positive impact through the air, I’m looking for his second straight game of under 50 yards rushing.
In his first two career games against the 49ers defense, JSN struggled to produce. 6 total catches for 66 yards isn’t something to write home about.
When you combine this stat with the fact that the Seahawks up-and-coming star wideout averages less than 34 receiving yards per game at home throughout his career, this is not looking like a Njigba game for Seattle.
While he might lead the team in targets or receptions, his yard total is something we would stay away from – or in this case take the under.
On the other side of the coin, Tyler Lockett has reached the 50-yard mark or better in four of his last five games against the 49ers, including their last matchup where he put up 89 yards on this San Francisco defense.
Lockett has reached this number in four of five games this season but has not found the endzone. Opposite of Njigba, the veteran wideout averages 66 YPG at home compared to just 38 YPG away.
Lockett is due for his first big game of the season here at home against their bitter division rival
