Ten WNBA teams are in action on Thursday night, including three of the top teams in the league – Phoenix, Minnesota, and New York. The marquee matchup has to be the 8-8 squads, Indiana vs Las Vegas.
After the Fever’s Commissioner’s Cup victory, expect Vegas to come out swinging early and for Jackie Young to be a big part of the game plan.
Phoenix won six games in a row before dropping just their third game of June to the Aces this past Sunday. With a long rest, they are back on the road against a Dallas team that hasn’t played one of the top-tier teams since their 13-point loss to these Mercury in early June.
With Kahleah Copper back in the starting lineup and their 3-point shooting 3rd best in the WNBA, I’m looking for this Phoenix team to get out in transition and dominate a Wings defense, allowing over 84 PPG on opponents shooting almost 37% from deep this season. With Dallas down, DiJonai Carrington, most likely, this results in a Phoenix blowout.
Sabally had her first down game in quite some time against the Las Vegas Aces, shooting 3 of 14 from the field and dropping just two dimes on the night. Satou averages 19.1 PPG on the season while putting up 23.8 PPG on 3+ days of rest.
I’m taking a bounce-back game from one of the best do-it-all forwards in the league against the struggling Dallas defense.
Jackie Young and the Aces are starting to finally find some rhythm, beating the favored Phoenix Mercury last weekend away from home. Looking to build off the win and get above .500 once again, I believe this will be a high-scoring game against the Fever.
Indiana has allowed 80+ points in five of their last six games. Coming off a Commissioner’s Cup win, look for the Aces to run-and-gun early to try and get this Fever defense on their heels. Young has hit this prop in four of her last five games.
