UFC Fight Night Kansas City: 2 Parlays and Top Underdog Slip for Saturday, April 26

UFC is back after a week off, and our last article didn’t disappoint as we swept both Parlays and cashed our Underdog slip! Let’s try to repeat that on a fight night that is full of talent, intriguing matchups, and a card that may be flying under the radar.

Headlined by Carlos Prates and Ian Garry, and what should be Anthony Smith’s retirement fight, this card is set for fireworks and potential breakout performances. Let’s jump right into the plays!

Brown + Mingyang Find a Way!

Randy Brown has a massive frame for the welterweight division, standing at 6’3” with a 78” reach, and uses it very well with long-range striking. He has a solid boxing style and is very good at keeping distance. I love him taking lessons learned from his loss to Bryan Battle, whom he couldn’t break loose in the grappling.

I believe he can keep Dalby at bay here. His experience against top-tier talent Jack Della Maddalena and Vicente Luque should give him
a big edge here. I expect him to control distance and keep his opponent from getting inside, while possibly finding the kill shot, or taking this by decision, which I don’t hate at +100.

Zhang Mingyang is a very talented fighter from the Asian scene with serious finishing power. In his 16 wins he has finished 15, most of them by KO. He’s aggressive, explosive, and if he finds your chin, it could be over quick. Against a less durable opponent like Smith, who has had one door out the door for a while now,I like the killer in this matchup. I usually like to be careful vs the more experienced fighters but it’s over for Smith.

Aliskerov + Elder Get Hands Raised

Ikram Aliskerov is a name at middleweight I believe will be around for a while. Coming off a loss to Whitaker is no bad defeat, not to mention he did UFC a solid for stepping up in that situation, so I do believe they are giving him a winnable fight. He has power in his hands and serious grappling credentials. His only loss outside of Whitaker was to Khamzat Chimaev, fighting for the belt next.

Since joining the UFC, he’s shown he can finish on the feet, or the mat and I like him to find another here! Evan Elder can be tricky, and truth be told we faded him his first two UFC fights and cashed in. Now with the experience on his side, I am fading another contender series fighter.

We have been very profitable in this position and even though I respect the game Guage Young brings, Elder should grind out a win. This won’t be easy for Elder, but he has fought better competition to this point. As long as he minds his Ps and Qs, avoids the KO by Young, he can find a victory by outlasting Young and could find a takedown or two.

Underdog Slip

Two violent finishers on our hands here. I do love the Over Minutes props on Underdog but going to side with two riskier plays here. Zhang Mingyang only knows one way to fight, press forward and inflict damage.

All but one of his pro wins have ended inside the distance. He’ll likely force an early brawl, and if he avoids the freak submission, he should have Smith out of there within 2 rounds. Ikram Aliskerov has the tools to finish anywhere, and we have seen that!

He can produce a brutal ground-and-pound or find you with KO power. He can also damage you enough to find a submission with 5 of those to his name. Against a fighter with weaker takedown defense, I believe he will wear down Muniz and he could get this done before it hits the third round.
