UFC 310 Preview: Odds, Predictions, and 3 Best Bets for Saturday, December 7

UFC 310 is finally here, the last PPV of the year, and the UFC did not disappoint with this roster. We have intriguing matchups up and down this card and I cannot wait for Saturday to get here!

The headliner gives us a rare UFC newcomer immediately fighting for a belt, as Asakura comes in from Rizin to fight Pantoja. Two fighters with a combined 33-0 record, someone’s zero has to go, and a list of hot up-and-coming prospects. This card surely will not disappoint!

Dog Of the Night

To open the main card, we get Korean Superboy Doohoo Choi, coming off a KO win over Bill Algero, taking on Nate Landwehr coming off an impressive win over Jamall Emmers. Choi coming back from military duty has looked like a much better version of himself.

Nate can find ways to out dog his opponents in his fights, but he has shown to be sloppy and wild at times and I believe that will bite him here. Choi should be smart enough to keep distance and avoid Nate’s pressure and takedown attempts. Choi is the much cleaner striker here and I do think he will find his range and put enough damage on Nate to find the victory, maybe even a KO.

Parlay Of the Night

If you have been following my UFC picks for a while you know we have been riding these two for a while now. Bryan Battle gets perhaps a step up in class facing Randy Brown, but I believe Battle will continue to outpace, and out work his opponent here. As long as Battle keeps a similar game plan as his previous fights, he should find a victory.

Battle has multiple paths to victory here, if he can find success with the takedowns, he will work Brown on the mat. If his takedowns are not working, he will find a way to get inside the pocket with Brown and he will land devastating blows. He cannot let Randy stand at distance and cleanly strike him, so he needs to stay active pressing forward, avoiding the clean shots.

I think a lot of people will still be backing Aljamain Sterling, and I can’t fault them for that. He has shown time and time again he can find a path to victory, but he will not be able to piggyback Movsar Evloev to a victory. Evloev is 18-0 and I don’t think he gets his first loss vs a danger less Sterline.

Movsar has the advantages in grappling, and I do expect him to outwork Sterling when they get into exchanges and onto the mat. If he decides to strike a bit with Sterling, his ability to keep range and find his shots should be no problem here. We probably see a decision, and Evloev should have the damage and control here.

Longshot Of the Night

Ian Garry has been a decision machine his last 3 fights, against 2 very solid fighters. He is also 15-0 looking to keep his streak going. Shavkat Rakhmonov has 18 professional fights and 18 wins by finish. This is the most anticipated fight of the night and probably should be the main event, even with a title on the line.

I am taking a shot here because these two are friends, ex-sparring partners, and know each other very well according to numerous sources. This can either go two ways I believe, Shavkat finds a finish inside the distance, or we have a decision as I do not believe Garry will find a finish in this one.

+200 seems like great value in a main fight, even with 5 rounds, Garry knows how to survive, and if he can avoid a submission, I do believe we have a chance to get this into later rounds. Shavkat will not finish every fighter he faces, maybe he keeps it going and I won’t be shocked, but +200 is great value in a main fight with a lot on the line.
