The final game of the NFL Season is nearly here. In less than two weeks, the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs will face off in a highly-anticipated Super Bowl. These teams have made it to this point for a reason, and this could be one of the best Super Bowls in recent history.
Ahead of the game, we have taken a lot of time to look at player props, trying to figure out the best way to attack the board. A lot of our strategy comes from how we see this game playing out, which should be a battle of the two quarterbacks.
We’re projecting both quarterbacks to have massive games, which is why we’re taking a lot of overs on pass-catchers. We also believe that there will be a few rushers that will be successful, making for a great game for both offenses.
Take a look at our four favorite player props from Underdog based on our above analysis. These lines could change as we get closer to the big game, so be sure to lock in your picks now before everything shifts!
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense might have had a tough regular season, but they have looked different in the playoffs. Their running game has been the story for the past three games, but we’re expecting that to change in the Super Bowl.
Mahomes has thrown for 270+ yards in two of his past three Super Bowls, including a 286-yard performance against the 49ers in 2020. Don’t sleep on one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
We think the Chiefs are going to win this one, and as a result, we believe Purdy and the 49ers will fall into a negative game script early. They may not abandon the run entirely, but Purdy will be asked to drop back pretty often.
The Chiefs do have a good secondary, but if Purdy is forced to throw 35+ passes, we’re confident that he will hit the over on this line with ease.
We all know that CMC is a beast on the ground, but he’s less predictable when it comes to receiving yards. Even though he is a big-time playmaker, we just think this line is too high for him to achieve, especially in his first Super Bowl appearance.
Even if Taylor Swift can’t make it to the big game on time, we’re smashing the over on Kelce’s reception line here. He had 11 catches in the AFC Championship, proving that he still has plenty of juice left in the tank and that he is still a dominant pass-catcher.
Kelce has had 6+ receptions in all three of his Super Bowl appearances, and without Tyreek Hill on the roster, we’re confident he will hit this line, perhaps by the end of the first half.
George Kittle was shut down in the NFC Championship, as he was only targeted three times, which he turned into two catches for 27 yards. With this in mind, Underdog brought his line down a lot, something we would love to take advantage of.
Kittle has been a great target for Purdy all season, and we think he’s coming to play in the Super Bowl, and should hit the over on his receiving total as a result.
