As we head into Week 16, it’s time to hunt for those huge DFS value players that can give your lineup a big edge without breaking the bank on your salary cap. This week, we’ve found some of the best of the best when it comes to value and these players bring excellent upside and production relative to their salaries.
Here’s who we’ve cooked up for the Week 16 slate.
Player | Salary | Opponent | Projected Points | Value |
---|---|---|---|---|
Anthony Richardson | $5.4k | Titans | 19.6 | 3.63 |
Puka Nacua | $8.0k | New York Jets | 22.4 | 2.8 |
Jahmyr Gibbs | $7.5k | Bears | 22.8 | 3.04 |
Jake Ferguson | $3.6k | Buccaneers | 10.1 | 2.81 |
Anthony Richardson has been one of the more polarizing players in DFS and when you take a look at his stats, it’s easy to see why.
While his passing stats have left a lot to be desired for the most part — just 47% completion and a 7:11 TD:INT ratio in 10 starts, which is absolutely horrific — his rushing ability is what sets him apart from the rest of the QB crowd.
He’s found the end zone a whopping 4 times on the ground in his last 4 starts, proving his ability to rack up fantasy points with his legs. It’s like getting an extra RB on your roster.
This week is looking good for him. Richardson faces a Titans defense that’s tough to beat through the air, allowing the second-fewest total yards per game at 297.4, but that’s not how he’s going to shine.
Tennessee has proven time and time again that they’re more susceptible to mobile QBs, and Richardson’s dual-threat potential could turn him into a sneaky value play that you won’t want to pass up on.
While he isn’t necessarily a lock for cash lineups, his rushing upside makes him a viable option in tournaments or even superflex setups. Hopefully, he keeps the interceptions off the score sheet to keep the points on the board.
Puka Nacua continues to deliver for DFS managers in a big way. He’s showing why he’s been a must-play for much of the season and he’s not slowing down.
In Week 15, he hauled in 7 of 8 targets for 97 yards and even added 11 rushing yards on 2 carries. Nacua’s versatility in both the ground game and air game and his heavy involvement in the Rams’ offense make him a strong choice, even against tough matchups.
Don’t think the Jets are a tough matchup? Well, their defense isn’t too bad.
The Jets’ defense has been relatively stingy. They’ve allowed just 194 passing yards per game — good for the fifth-best mark in the league.
However, we see that Nacua’s volume is matchup-proof. With Matthew Stafford consistently feeding him targets and even getting him heavily involved in the ground game, Nacua’s ceiling is always sky-high.
He’s one of the safer high-priced options on this Week 16 slate.
Jahmyr Gibbs has become a DFS darling down the stretch and he’s only going to add to that.
Coming off a monster performance where he totaled 2 touchdowns and over an insane 100 scrimmage yards, Gibbs now finds himself as the Lions’ unquestioned lead back now that David Montgomery is out for the season with his MCL injury.
Facing a Bears defense that ranks just 28th against RBs, Gibbs is in a prime spot to shine — and shine bright.
His ability to contribute both on the ground and in the air adds to his appeal, particularly in PPR scoring formats.
Detroit’s high-powered offense puts Gibbs in scoring opportunities every week, and we think he should thrive in this division rivalry game against a Bears team that is struggling to find their spot.
At $7.5k, he’s an excellent mid-tier option with a definite RB1 upside — even more so now that he’s not going to be sharing time.
TEs don’t generally make big waves, but we think this one will be a bit different.
Jake Ferguson has had a quiet couple of weeks, with just 5 catches for 55 yards over his last 2 games. However, he’s in a good spot to kick it in overdrive against a Tampa Bay defense that has struggled to contain opposing passing attacks. That’s where Ferguson shines.
The Buccaneers rank 29th in passing yards allowed per game and have given up 23 touchdowns through the air this season. Their secondary just can’t get it together and even give up big yardage after the catch.
At just a cheap $3.6k, Ferguson offers solid value for DFS lineups in any contest format.
While his recent production has been somewhat underwhelming, his target share and the favorable matchup against the Bucs tell us a bounce-back game could be on the horizon for this TE.
Ferguson makes sense as a low-cost tight-end option, especially in lineups where you want to save a bit of salary for higher-priced stars in other positions.
This week’s value plays are a good mix of high ceilings and, of course, favorable matchups. It’s always important to look at who they’re going against as that’s the biggest tell.
Anthony Richardson provides an interesting dual-threat potential, Puka Nacua brings his always-elite volume, Jahmyr Gibbs looks unstoppable as the Lions’ primary workhorse, and Jake Ferguson is a great punt play at tight end.
Balancing these picks with your premium options like Chase or Jefferson could be the key to cashing in Week 16 DFS contests and winning big.
