For college football fans, the Thanksgiving holiday is a bundle of both joy and sadness. The final regular season games for most teams occur this weekend, especially teams not in contention for one of the 40+ postseason games this year.
With so many games occurring over the next four days, what games should bettors follow to stuff their wallets with profits? Find out our top five player prop picks for college football’s Week 13 contests below.
TCU’s run-first offense features workhorse RB Emani Bailey. The junior from Denton, Texas, has logged 202 carries this season for 1,059 rushing yards and seven TDs. He’s added 160 receiving yards, too, on 21 catches.
After a strong start to the season, the Sooners defense has wilted in the second half of the year. Oklahoma’s defense has allowed a 100-yard rusher in three of its last four contests, giving bettors confidence that Bailey can do the same in their matchup Friday.
It’s been a remarkable season for Missouri QB Brady Cook and his fellow Tigers’ teammates. Cook has led his squad by completing 67 percent of his passes for 3,077 yards and 18 TDs against only six INTs. The Tigers are 9-2 and in the hunt for a major postseason bowl game.
The reason bettors should pick Cook to go under the target has nothing to do with his ability. Instead, our under prediction relies on the Arkansas defense and its lack of run-stopping capability. In their past four SEC games, the Razorbacks have yielded 763 rushing yards and multiple 100-yard rushers.
With Missouri more than capable of running the football with RB Cody Schrader, expect the Tigers to punish Arkansas on the ground Friday evening in the Razorbacks’ final game this year. Cook should finish the contest well under 263 yards as Missouri is favored to win by more than eight points.
Few teams have the depth that Texas has this season. One case to point to is the void left when RB Jonathan Brook was lost for the year to an ACL injury two weeks ago. But the Longhorns inserted freshman RB C.J. Baxter, a back-up backfield athlete that had seen significant playing time this season.
All Baxter did in his next game – a 26-16 Texas win over Iowa State – was run 20 times for 117 yards to take pressure off QB Quinn Ewers. For the season, Baxter has 507 rushing yards off 107 carries while also netting 76 receiving yards on 17 receptions.
Expect more of the same as Baxter and the Longhorns take on Texas Tech one final time as Big 12 members. The Red Raiders have allowed over 150 yards rushing in three of past four conference contests, giving Baxter’s bettors confidence he can eclipse the 100-yard mark Friday night.
The Game. For the third straight season, both Michigan and Ohio State enter their annual matchup ranked among the top five teams in the country. With so many storylines swirling around this contest, what can bettors select and feel comfortable about their choice?
The answer is Michigan RB Blake Corum to exceed 84.5 rushing yards. This season, Corum has 888 rushing yards and 20 TDs off 180 carries. In the past two weeks, the senior tailback has carried the football 54 times for 239 yards to showcase his workhorse capability. Expect the Wolverines to consistently feed Corum Saturday in The Game against Ohio State.
In leading Louisville to its first-ever ACC Championship game, QB Jack Plummer has been the steady hand guiding the No. 10 Cardinals. Plummer has completed 65 percent of his passes for 2,710 and 19 TDs against 11 INTs this season.
Louisville is a balanced offense this year, however. The Cardinals have ran for more than 2,000 yards in 2023, primarily behind the explosive Jawhar Jordan’s breakthrough season with 1,009 rushing yards on 150 carries.
Kentucky, however, is a stingy rushing defense as the Wildcats have yielded over 150 rushing yards only three times this season. With Kentucky clamping down on the Cardinals’ running game, expect Plummer to exceed the 236.5 passing yards mark to make this a successful player prop bet Saturday.
