Top 4 MLB Player Prop Bets for Tuesday, June 11: Follow or Fade Nolan Gorman?

All 30 major league baseball teams return to action Tuesday, June 11 for another full evening of baseball lovers. The schedule is highlighted by two high-profile games featuring AL East teams as the East-leading New York Yankees travel to Kansas City to face the Royals while the Baltimore Orioles host the Atlanta Braves.

Which players should fans expect to have strong games tonight? We’ll examine tonight’s matchups and use data to drive our decisions about the top four MLB Player Prop Bets for Tuesday, June 11.

St. Louis Cardinals’ Nolan Gorman To Record Home Run (+480)

A battle for the bottom of the NL Central takes place when the St. Louis Cardinals host the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday evening. Bettors should look to St. Louis second baseman Nolan Gorman to have a big game tonight against the Pirates.

After starting the month strong, Gorman has recorded two hits in his past 19 at-bats to slump to a .223 batting average. Tonight, Gorman faces righthander Paul Skenes for the first time in his major league career.

Skenes is 3-0 in five starts, but the pitcher has allowed four homers in his debut season. Expect Gorman to add to that total tonight and record at least one round-trip hit against the pitcher in Tuesday’s contest.

Toronto Blue Jays’ Yusei Kikuchi To Record OVER 16.5 Outs

The Blue Jays have been an inconsistent team over this year, dropping below .500 with their 32-34 record this season. Batting is one-half of the team’s problems as Toronto hitters are averaging just .232 this season and have the fifth-worst home run total (55) of any major league team through the first 66 games.

Pitching is the other half, but lefthander Yusei Kikuchi is among the team’s better starters despite his 3-5 record. Kikuchi has tossed the third-most innings, trailing Chris Bassitt by one full inning through 13 starts.

Kikuchi has lasted six innings in eight of their 13 starts, and bettors should expect him to produce those results again tonight.

Chicago White Sox’s Drew Thorpe OVER 5.5 Strikeouts

With Chicago mired in its worst season in the team’s 123-year history, the White Sox are elevating prospective ace Drew Thorpe to the major leagues. Thorpe is averaging nearly 1.2 strikeouts per inning through his first two seasons in the minors, and the 23-year-old prospect set the Cal Poly record with 149 strikeouts in a single season with 149 in 2022.

Thorpe draws the Seattle Mariners in his first start with the team. Pitchers usually fare well against hitters in their first appearance as familiarity with the delivery and pitching style is nonexistent.

Seattle has recorded the most strikeouts of any team this season with 677 total. Expect Thorpe to add at least six more to that total tonight and cover this prop bet.

Los Angeles Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani To Record A Hit (-280)

In the offseason, Los Angeles landed the biggest name in baseball today with the Angels’ hitter Shohei Ohtani. The foreign-born athlete is fifth in the majors in batting average (.310) and ninth in home runs this season (15).

His hitting is one reason why the Dodgers set atop the NL West with a 7.5-game lead over the San Diego Padres. Tonight, Ohtani faces a pitcher he’s seen multiple times in his career in Texas Rangers right-hander Dane Dunning.

Dunning has held Ohtani to a 0.190 career batting average in 21 appearances, but the designated hitter is due to record a hit against the Rangers ace. Expect Ohtani to rebound from his recent June slump with a strong performance Tuesday.
