Can Chris Jones and the Chiefs defense keep the Ravens offense at bay?
Week 1 of the NFL season is finally here, and we get a fabulous clash to get the party started. Get our betting guide for Ravens at Chiefs here! Enjoy the game, and best of luck with all of your action!
The hometown Chiefs are currently a 3-point favorite at the time of this writing. That number is a bit surprising when you factor in Kansas City’s yearly dominance on their home turf.
The total for this matchup is currently sitting at 46.5 at most sportsbooks. This number makes sense because both of these defenses play the pass really well.
We’ll be treated to a rematch of the AFC Championship game from last season at Arrowhead Stadium. The defending Champion, Kansas City Chiefs will take on the visiting Baltimore Ravens. The Chiefs were obviously victorious in their last meeting which was much lower scoring than expected. The final was just 17-10.
Derrick Henry is a new addition for the Ravens and brings a physical presence to a run game that has been highlighted by the swift feet of dual-threat QB, Lamar Jackson over the past years. The defense was tops in the league, but they lost many of their staff over the offseason. Zach Orr was brought in to run the show this season and is a rookie in the role.
The Chiefs added speedster Xavier Worthy through the draft and believe that he will be able to stretch the field enough to open things up more for Travis Kelce and the run game. Their defense remains intact for the most part and will look to repeat what was a top defense in the league last season.
Typically, the defense is ahead of the offenses early in the NFL season. Here we get a very emotionally charged atmosphere with the Chiefs celebrating their championship run from the previous season and a Ravens team that is looking for revenge.
Both defenses will charged up and should be able to keep both offenses under wraps in this great season opener. Give us the under in what should be a tight contest that should come down to the final possession.
