The NFL decided to bless fans at the beginning of the year. Not only do we get a Thursday night game to kick off the season, but there’s also a highly anticipated matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday night in Brazil.
The Packers and the Eagles were two of the best teams in the NFC last year, but both have something to prove. Jalen Hurts’ team fell flat in the back half of the 2023 season, and Jordan Love’s squad ended up just short of the NFC Championship game.
We are excited to see how both teams perform in their first game of the season, especially since it’s in Brazil, which adds another layer to the contest.
With our excitement at the top of our minds, let’s get into our favorite Underdog player props for this game!
Let’s be honest. The Eagles’ secondary is suboptimal, and while they’ve added a few pieces in the offseason, they don’t exactly inspire confidence. It could be the worst part of their team in 2024, but we’ll have to wait and see how they pan out.
Regardless of what their full-season outlook is like, we believe the Packers will take full advantage of a unit that’s trying to get themselves together.
Look for Jordan Love to have a massive game, potentially surpassing 300 passing yards, which means that he’ll hit the over on his line with ease.
At this point, it’s hard to bet against Jalen Hurts not to have a rushing touchdown in a given game. The “Tush Push” is basically trademarked at this point, and when the Eagles get into the Red Zone, it’s nearly impossible to stop.
Whether it’s via QB sneak or another method, we’ll bet that Hurts will sneak into the endzone during this game.
Josh Jacobs was a massive addition for the Packers during the offseason. He should be great for them down the stretch, but he might struggle in Game 1 against the Eagles.
Their defensive line is one of the best in the league, and they might get home in the box earlier than the Packers hope for. Since we believe Love will have a massive passing night, we’re fading Jacobs’ rushing total here.
