MNF’s showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants brings two teams together for a clash with plenty to prove.
While the Steelers aim to stay atop the AFC North, the Giants will do what they can to redeem themselves after a rough loss last week.
With a low-scoring game expected, these prop bets highlight where the best value lies for Monday night’s matchup.
Russell Wilson might not be the scrambling force he once was, but you can’t deny that he’s still got an arm.
Coming off a decent performance against the Jets, where he threw for 264 yards, Wilson has shown he’s still got the chops to make big plays downfield.
The Giants have struggled to contain the passing game, and Wilson’s chemistry with George Pickens continues to just grow and grow. With Pickens stretching out the field and the Giants’ defense ranking near the bottom in pass defense, 202.5 yards feels easily achievable to us.
Wilson’s previous games show he can blow through this mark if his receivers get open. The Giants’ defense has been fairly generous to QBs, allowing an average of over 230 passing yards per game.
Unless the Steelers decide to go run-heavy, which we don’t see happening against this defense, Wilson’s passing yard total is a lock-in for the over.
Daniel Jones has had a turbulent season. We think it’s hard to see things improving against a Steelers defense that’s no stranger to pressure.
Jones has managed multiple games without a single passing touchdown, and with Pittsburgh’s pass rush led by T.J. Watt, he’ll have little time in the pocket to find anyone in the end zone. Plus, with the Giants dealing with O-line struggles, it’s likely they’ll lean on the ground game to avoid turnovers and stay afloat in the game.
Pittsburgh’s defense has allowed just a handful of passing TDs this season, especially when playing at home.
Given Jones’s struggles under pressure and the likelihood of a run-heavy approach, under 0.5 passing touchdowns makes perfect sense and the plus odds make it a nice way to win some cash.
There’s nothing like a good ol’ anytime touchdown on a Monday night.
Najee Harris has found the end zone several times in recent weeks, and Pittsburgh’s offense continues to lean on him near the goal line. On top of that, Harris’s physical style fits well against the Giants’ front, which has been relatively inconsistent at stopping the run game.
With Wilson expected to move the ball downfield, Harris will likely get his chances in the red zone at some point during the 60 minutes to punch it in.
At +105 for an anytime touchdown, Harris offers solid value as the lead back.
He’s shown he can handle the tough yards, and the Steelers know how to use him in scoring situations. Harris has already proven he’s very capable of multiple red-zone carries, making him a strong pick to find the end zone at least once on Monday night. This is a good bet.
Devin Singletary has a great opportunity to take the over on 29.5 rushing yards, especially considering the Giants’ likely commitment to a balanced game plan.
Singletary returned last week after an injury and is expected to see more work this week, particularly in early-down situations.
Against a Steelers defense that can be tough against the pass, the Giants will undoubtedly need to rely on Singletary to control the pace of play.
In games where Singletary has seen a reasonable amount of touches, he’s consistently gone over this mark and never looked back. Even if he splits carries, 30 yards seems totally achievable against a Steelers defense that occasionally allows chunk plays on the ground.
As long as Singletary gets 8-10 carries, we expect him to hit the over here with no problem at all.
George Pickens has come out as one of Wilson’s go-to options, especially on deep passes.
Pickens leads the Steelers in receiving yards and he consistently racks up big plays. So far, he’s averaging over 15 yards per catch this season. To take that a step further, the Giants’ secondary has been inconsistent, giving up multiple big plays to wide receivers.
With Wilson likely to target Pickens on deep routes and third-down situations, he’s in a great position to go over 63.5 receiving yards.
Given his role as Pittsburgh’s WR1, Pickens’s ability to generate yards after the catch makes him a perfect candidate for this over.
These prop bets represent the best values for Monday night’s game.
With strong matchups and recent trends to support these picks, you’re all set to enjoy the action between the Steelers and Giants while putting some smart money down on these player props.
