Best Player Prop Bets for MNF Doubleheader

For the first time since September 25, NFL fans and bettors are treated to a Monday night doubleheader this week. Miami, the top seed in the AFC, will host the AFC South bottom-dwellers, Tennessee, in a projected blowout where the spread has grown to 13 points in favor of the Dolphins.

At the same time, The Packers will look to improve on a 2-4 road record when they face the Giants at MetLife Stadium. Green Bay is favored by seven points in enemy territory.

The Dolphins are 4-1 as home favorites this season, covering by an average of 10.6 points in that role and posting a 21.4-point average margin of victory. The Titans are among the worst ATS teams in the NFL as a road underdog in 2023. They’ve covered just once in five tries, losing by 12.6 points per game and failing to cover by an average ATS margin of 8.9 points.

New York is familiar with being an underdog at home, posting a 2-2-1 ATS record in that spot. The Packers will be favored on the road for the first time this season. They have won and covered the number in four of their last five games entering this week.

We followed a Sunday night sweep with another on Monday last week, cashing both props on Trevor Lawrence’s pass attempts and Joe Mixon’s receiving yards. That solid result brings our record since Week 7 to 12-5, including promo plays from Underdog, and was good enough for a parlay cash.

Our best bet card for player props this Monday is outlined just ahead.

Saquon Barkley OVER 70.5 Rushing Yards

We covered the struggles of the Packer defense to prevent running game success in handicapping Isiah Pacheco’s big day in Week 13, and that streak could continue with Barkley getting a shot at them this week.

After allowing 495 yards and 5.4 yards per rush entering last week’s game with Kansas City, Green Bay allowed Pacheco to run for 110 yards on 18 carries (6.1 ypc) and the Chiefs as a team to gain 148 yards on 25 attempts (5.9 ypc).

Barkley has averaged 4.8 yards per carry over his most recent four games and has ripped off a run of 20 yards or more in four of five. Against Green Bay’s 30th-ranked run defense that allows the seventh-most yards per attempt to opposing runners, we like the Penn Stater to power his way over 70 yards Monday night.

Tyjae Spears UNDER 38.5 Rush+Rec Yards

Spears saw his most extensive work of the season (20 touches) last week in Tennessee’s overtime loss to Indianapolis amid concerns that Derrick Henry was concussed. Henry, the league’s second-leading rusher, won’t be subject to the NFL’s concussion protocol after coach Mike Vrabel announced he was cleared by the examiner and went through a Monday workout unfazed.

The Titans may be forced to throw the ball to keep up with Miami on Monday, but we also expect Vrabel to attempt to establish the run to tire out the Dolphin defense and keep the ball away from Tua as much as possible.

Henry will see the bulk of the work, and Spears would have to reach this total against a defense that gives up the 7th-fewest yards per rush. We think he’ll be bottled up if he gets many opportunities at all.

Jaylen Waddle OVER 66.5 Receiving Yards

The Titans have allowed the 6th-most yards per attempt to opposing passers this season and haven’t posed a threat to intercept throws either, ranking last in the NFL with three picks in 391 attempts. Plenty of attention will be rightfully paid to Tyreek Hill, which we expect will allow Waddle to continue to accrue the targets, catches, and yards necessary to exceed.

The Alabama product has garnered eight targets or more in four of five games entering this Monday night matchup with mixed results. Waddle has gone over 110 yards twice but has been contained to fewer than 60 yards in the other three games.

We predict he’ll post a number similar to his performances against New York and New England this week on home turf and cash this over for us.
