Best NCAA Player Props for Day 1 Of March Madness: Look for Davis and UNC to Light It Up from Downtown!

Happy Thursday, everyone!  WE MADE IT! The Madness is finally here, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. The round of 64 officially starts today, kicking off one of the two most exciting days in sports.

While our bracket might get busted in the first game of the Tournament, we have studied the board and at least have come up with a few player props from Underdog that we are confident in. Take a peek at our four favorites from today’s action!

Jaxson Robinson OVER 12.5 Points

This might be our favorite play of the day. Jaxson Robinson is BYU’s leading scorer, and he has plenty of experience bringing them a lot of points in meaningful games.

What better time than March Madness for him to have another standout performance to bring BYU into the Round of 32? Robinson put up 18 against Texas Tech in the Big 12 Championship quarterfinal, an indication of what he is capable of, even against tough opponents.

Look for Robinson to put his stamp on this game right out of the gate.

Ryan Kalkbrenner OVER 27.5 Points, Rebounds & Assists

This Creighton team is SO good. Three players averaged 17+ points per game throughout the regular season, which could serve them well in March.

Since they don’t necessarily rely on one star player, Creighton can be free to trust that their well-rounded approach will serve them well in all games, especially their Round 1 matchup with Akron. Look for Ryan Kalkbrenner to make his presence known in this one, especially seeing his performance against Providence in the Big East Tournament.

He put up 19 points and 12 rebounds, and if he puts up a double-double today, he’ll easily smash his PRA total, which is why we recommend his over.

RJ Davis OVER 18.5 Points

UNC entered the season with Armando Bacot as their star player. Bacot has been a big name throughout his career, and there have been a lot of expectations for him to succeed.

While this is the case, RJ Davis has made a name for himself throughout the year and was actually the team’s leading scorer in the regular season. Baycot can still get it done as a scorer, but we’re projecting him to be more of a rebounding threat throughout the Tournament.

With this in mind, we’re taking the over on Davis’ point total. He should be the team’s leading scorer in their opening matchup with Wagner, scoring well over his projection of 18.5.

Dalton Knecht OVER 22.5 Points

We’ll be quick with this one. Even if Dalton Knecht’s point total was listed at 24.5, we would still take the over on his point total.

Knecht is the heart and soul of this Tennessee team, and as one of, if not the top player in the country, we like his odds to begin the Tournament with a BANG. We wouldn’t be surprised if he hit 30 points in this one.
