Though there are only a handful of games, the NHL schedule tonight is packed with some really exciting matchups. On top of that, there are some intriguing player props you might not want to miss out on.
From high-scoring stars to players getting hot at the right time, we’ve got you covered with the top 5 picks for tonight’s NHL slate.
Name | Team | Prop Bet | Odds |
---|---|---|---|
Aleksander Barkov | Florida Panthers | Over 0.5 Points | -188 |
Jack Hughes | New Jersey Devils | Over 0.5 Assists | -142 |
Filip Forsberg | Nashville Predators | Anytime Goalscorer | +115 |
Logan Cooley | Utah Hockey Club | Anytime Goalscorer | +190 |
Kevin Fiala | Los Angeles Kings | Over 0.5 Points | -130 |
Aleksander Barkov has been a consistent force for the Panthers — especially against the Kings.
In his last 10 matchups against LA, Barkov has recorded at least one point in 9 of them. They can’t seem to figure him out. And, with the Kings coming off a disappointing 5-2 loss to the Red Wings, it’s apparent that their defense is struggling.
Barkov is not only the focal point of Florida’s dominant offense but also excels at creating opportunities and plays in high-pressure games.
To top all of that off, the Kings’ PK unit has been spotty lately. In fact, they’re ranking near the bottom half of the league.
We expect Barkov to take advantage of this matchup, either on the power play or even strength, making this one of the strongest NHL player props of the night.
Jack Hughes is a dynamic playmaker for the New Jersey Devils. His track record against the Flyers is impressive as well.
He’s tallied at least 1 assist in 5 of his last 6 games against Philadelphia and we don’t think tonight will be any different. The Flyers defense has been inconsistent all season long, and Hughes’ ability to exploit gaps and take advantage of mistakes makes this a great spot to back him.
The Devils have one of the most potent power-play units in the league, and Hughes is often at the center of their setup.
With Philadelphia allowing the 12th-most goals per game in the league, Hughes should have no problem getting chances to add another assist to his total. Don’t overlook this prop as we’re pretty sure he’s notching another point to his record.
Of course, anytime goalscorers are risky, but this is a good one. Filip Forsberg is one of Nashville’s top offensive threats, and he’s been in solid form as of late.
He’s scored at least 1 goal in 7 of the Predators’ last 8 games. He’s smoking hot and has no problem finding the back of the net on a consistent basis. Facing a Canucks team that has been relatively leaky defensively, Forsberg is set to capitalize and keep his streak going.
The Canucks have allowed a staggering 3.14 goals per game since the beginning of the month, and their PK ranks in the middle of the league at 80.1%. Forsberg thrives in these situations and he always gets plenty of ice time, making him a strong candidate to find the back of the net at some point tonight.
Another anytime goalscorer we like in tonight’s slate is Logan Cooley. He has been absolutely red-hot for the Utah Hockey Club, scoring in each of their last 4 home games. While Utah has struggled overall as a team this season, Cooley has been a bright spot. He’s showcasing his scoring touch and ability to finish around the net. He cleans up the scraps and has a rocket for a slapshot.
Of course, Pittsburgh is coming off a dominant performance, but they’ve had a few lapses defensively on the road. At nearly 2-to-1 odds, we love this bet. Cooley’s consistency at home makes this a value pick for sports bettors looking for an underdog prop that can pay out in a big way.
Kevin Fiala has been one of the Kings’ most reliable contributors on the road. He’s recording a point in each of their last 4 games away from their home rink. With Los Angeles looking to bounce back from a tough loss to Detroit, Fiala is likely to play a big role in their offensive push as they change things up and look to get back on track.
Florida has allowed an average of 3.25 goals per game in their last 6 contests which just screams of a prime opportunity for Fiala to get on the scoresheet.
Whether it’s a goal or an assist, we think that Fiala’s recent form makes this prop very enticing.
Tonight’s slate offers great variety for player props. Though there are only 10 teams facing off tonight, that doesn’t mean there aren’t hundreds of player prop opportunities for you to get in on the action with.
With opportunities to bet on both consistent performers and value plays at plus money, we think you’ll find something you like. From Barkov’s dominance against the Kings to Forsberg’s scoring streak, these picks are the ones we think have strong potential to cash.
