With 6 games on the schedule tonight, there might not be tons of games, but there are plenty of NHL player-prop betting opportunities that you won’t want to miss out on.
We’ve picked out the best bets based on recent performance, matchup trends, and value in the odds.
Player | Team | Bet | Odds |
---|---|---|---|
Mitch Marner | Toronto Maple Leafs | Over 1.5 Points | +130 |
Teuvo Teravainen | Chicago Blackhawks | Over 0.5 Assists | +176 |
Shane Pinto | Ottawa Senators | Over 0.5 Points | +165 |
Auston Matthews | Toronto Maple Leafs | Under 1.5 Points | -162 |
Rasmus Dahlin | Buffalo Sabres | Over 0.5 Assists | +105 |
Marner has been smoking hot lately, racking up 5 points in his last 4 games and consistently producing on Toronto’s top line. Sure, in only one of those games he hit 2 points, but the point is that he’s hot and setting up plays for one of the best teams in the league.
He also thrives against the Sharks, one of the worst teams in the NHL. He’s scored at least 1 goal in each of his last 4 games against them, but after seeing their 15-37-9 record, it’s easy to see why.
With William Nylander and Auston Matthews alongside him in the top 6, Marner has multiple ways to rack up points. He can find the back of the net on his own, or, what he’s really known for, setting up goals with helpers. He has 57 assists on the season.
The plus-money value on this bet is the part that is just too good to ignore — Toronto is a heavy favorite, and Marner’s playmaking ability should shine with little interruption from the Sharks.
Although he’s been fairly quiet this year, Teravainen has been a consistent playmaker as of late. He’s recorded an assist in each of the Blackhawks’ last 6 games as underdogs against Western Conference opponents. In his last 4 games alone he’s racked up 6 assists and 8 points overall. He’s on fire.
He also has 4 goals in his last 5 home games against the Kings, meaning he’ll be involved offensively. We think he just might break the 20-minute TOI mark for tonight’s game.
With nearly 2:30 of power-play time per game, he’s undoubtedly got solid opportunities to set up a goal. At +176, this is one of the best value bets on the board. You won’t want to miss out on this one.
Pinto has been quietly producing for Ottawa as he’s recorded at least 1 point in 6 of his last 7 games against the Capitals. He knows how to play the slot against them and we don’t see him slowing down.
He’s playing a solid role on the 2nd line and power play, and Washington has struggled defensively this season despite keeping up with the NHL playoff race.
At +165, we feel this bet offers great value for a player who’s been delivering in this matchup for quite a while.
This one might feel risky, but hear us out. It’s rare that anyone takes the under on Matthews, but there’s something to this one.
Matthews has been held under 2 points in 4 of his last 6 games. Despite averaging 1.1 points per game this season, his recent production has been inconsistent, to say the least.
Toronto should control the game against San Jose, but Matthews doesn’t need a multi-point night for the Leafs to win so we might see his TOI on the lower end.
The Sharks’ defensive issues could still allow him to score, but looking at that -162, this bet has solid value given his recent output.
Dahlin has recorded an assist in each of his last 2 games and 4 against the Canadiens which is why we love this solid plus-money play for tonight’s slate. He’s not a name we bet on too much when it comes to NHL player props, but this one was just too good to pass up.
The biggest takeaway here is that he takes charge of the Sabres’ power play which gives him even more chances to pick up a helper. Montreal ranks near the bottom with their PK unit, so if Buffalo gets a 2-3 power plays for the night, Dahlin has a great shot at cashing this bet.
Near even odds aren’t the best, but this feels like a lock if we’ve ever seen one.
This slate is delivering a strong mix of safe plays and some high-value bets.
Marner and Teravainen are undoubtedly in great spots to pick up points, while Pinto and Dahlin provide plus-money value with a good track record under their belt. The under on Matthews, despite being somewhat of a contrarian bet, adds a little balance for those looking for a lower-scoring angle.
