We are expecting Deebo Samuel to lead the 49ers to a win on Sunday Night Football.
A pair of teams with postseason aspirations will meet in Week 3 of Sunday Night Football. Both Denver and San Francisco have had to deal with some early season disappointment.
Which team can regroup and come out of this game victorious? Here are our best bets and prop bets for the 49ers at Broncos! Best of luck this week!
The (1-1) 49ers were delivered a blow early in the game last week. Their future franchise quarterback, Trey Lance, whom they gave the keys to the offense, went down with a nasty ankle injury. He was evaluated later and is now out for the season.
The good news, however, is that the Niners have probably the most complete backup QB in the league. Jimmy Garoppolo stepped in and did a masterful job in replace of Lance. He managed the game perfectly with a 100.1 QBR and led San Fran to a 27-7 win over division rival Seattle.
Denver has not lived up to the offseason expectations that most put on them after acquiring Russell Wilson. After losing 17-16 to the same Seattle team that the Niners just defeated, Denver pulled out a weak 16-9 win at home over the Texans.
While the offense has not been clicking, their defense has been solid. They are allowing just 13 points per game which is 3rd in the league. As nice as it is that the defense is stepping up, they will need Wilson to do more than a 59% completion percentage.
The Niners and Broncos are tied for 3rd in the league in points allowed per game. Each team allows just 13 per game but neither has played a potent offense. While San Fran is now playing their backup QB, it seems that their offense is a couple of steps ahead of where this Broncos offense is.
We are in the camp of believing in Jimmy G, and with the return of George Kittle, we have a solid offense heading into Denver. They should be able to pick up the road win and leave Denver wondering what changes need to be made to make Wilson and the offense successful.
Deebo has just 1 touchdown through the first two games. We expect him to be heavily involved in the offense here and with the Denver defense being as strong as it is, the Niners will likely be adding some wrinkles that will give him even more opportunities.
The addition of Kittle coming back will open things up in the red zone as well. This plus money price at DraftKings is simply too good to pass up.
Russ threw his 1st interception of the season last week against the Texans. The 9ers have three picks already this year and we expect that number to grow this week.
Russ just does not look comfortable in this offense just yet and this stellar Niners defense will pounce on every mistake he makes. An interception here at almost even money is strong value.
Jimmy G should not need to put up much yardage in this game because San Fran will focus more on their solid running attack. The Niners lead the league in rushing attempts per game (41) and they run the ball 59.85% of the time (2nd).
Garoppolo shouldn’t be throwing the ball around the yard too often in this game. Even if he does, Denver’s pass defense is pretty solid and should be able to contain him. The Broncos only allow 5 yards per pass, which ranks 5th in the NFL.
We love playing the odds on the 1st touchdown of the game when it is a 1 game slate. Here are the 3 players that we believe provide the most value on the 1st touchdown prop for Sunday and Monday night:
Albert Okwuegbunam +2000 (FanDuel)
Brandon Aiyuk +1200 (FanDuel)
Deebo Samuel +750 (DraftKings)
