Bryce Harper headlines our Underdog Fantasy MLB card for Wednesday.
Happy Wednesday, everybody! There are 14 games on the slate today. We’re going to take a look at the evening games for tonight’s MLB slate and go through our favorite player props of the night.
It’s getting to that point in the season where we’ve identified some heavy hitters (no pun intended). Here are the top player props that we’ve looked through, which are provided by Underdog.
In Blake Snell’s last three outings, he has struck out 6, 5, and 4 batters, respectively. However, in the games where he had 5 and 4 strikeouts, he faced difficult lineups in the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
We like his chances to have a high strikeout total against the Miami Marlins tonight for a few reasons. Over the Marlins’ last three games, they are averaging 10.33 strikeouts per game, which is tied for the fifth-highest total during that span.
Snell has only faced the Marlins four times in his career, but in those four games, he’s averaged over 6 strikeouts. With that in mind, we like Snell’s chances to hit the over on his strikeout total tonight.
Alek Manoah’s May was less than ideal. He had five starts during the month of May, losing each contest. He hasn’t lasted more than 5.2 innings in any of those games and has only thrown more than 93 pitches in two of these games.
Meanwhile, the Brewers are just two games removed from a seven-hit, seven-RBI performance against the San Francisco Giants. They appear to be due for another massive hitting game, which could signal a shorter outing for Mr. Manoah.
Bryce Harper is the definition of DUE tonight. He’s been hitless in his last 10 at-bats and will look to bounce back against the New York Mets.
The Mets are rolling out Carlos Carrasco on the mound tonight, who has given up at least one earned run in his last five outings. In fact, in three of his past five outings, Carrasco has given up five or more earned runs.
Being that Carrasco has encountered a rough start to the year, we’re confident that tonight is the night for Harper. Look for Harper to bounce back in a big way this evening, resulting in more than 2 hits, runs, and RBI.
While Harper has been in a bit of a funk, Yoshida has experienced the exact opposite fortune. He has achieved 2 or more HRR in three of his past five games and continues to be a bright spot on the Red Sox lineup.
Plus, the Red Sox are taking on Luke Weaver and the Reds, who have experienced an up-and-down season. While Weaver did have a 6.1 innings pitched, 3 hit affair on May 25th, his four previous outings didn’t yield the same results, giving up at least 4 ER in three of those four games.
Look for Yoshida to jump on Weaver early, resulting in at least 2 hits, runs, and RBI tonight.
