4 Player Prop Picks for Tonight’s NHL Slate

Tonight’s NHL slate isn’t the biggest of the week, but it undoubtedly offers some solid betting opportunities in the player prop market.

We’ve checked out all of the players and put together 4 props worth taking a shot on. We found a good mix of players from across the spectrum and we think you’re going to love what we’ve come up with. These are the best NHL player prop picks for the slate.

Player Team Prop Bet Odds
Lucas Raymond Red Wings Under 2.5 Shots on Goal -175
Ryan Donato Blackhawks Over 0.5 Points +105
Cale Makar Avalanche Over 0.5 Assists -162
William Nylander Maple Leafs Anytime Goalscorer +165

Lucas Raymond Under 2.5 Shots on Goal

  • Player Prop Odds: -175

Raymond has been a solid offensive player for Detroit this season with a solid 65 points, but that hasn’t translated into shots on goal over the past few games. He’s only managed to clear this line in just 2 of his last 10 games, making the Under 2.5 shots the right play despite the heavy juice. To us, this feels like quick money.

His recent games show 1 or 0 shots in 6 straight games, and his ice time hasn’t been high enough to expect a major increase in volume. Of course, he’s one of the best in Detroit and will always be a top 6 skater, but he’s doing more to set up plays than take the shots himself.

With his confidence seemingly down and a matchup that isn’t favorable for high shot volume, the under remains the best play here even with the -175 odds.

Ryan Donato Over 0.5 Points

  • Player Prop Odds: +105

Donato has quietly been on a solid point streak, recording at least one point in 8 straight games for the Blackhawks. He’s on a roll and we don’t see him slowing down anytime soon.

At plus money, this is an excellent value betespecially considering his increased role in Chicago’s offense and his TOI.

The Blackhawks face the Avalanche tonight which is a high-scoring team that often forces opponents into more offensive opportunities to keep up.

With Donato’s recent production in the zone and Colorado’s ability to create fast-paced games, Donato just needs an assist or a goal to cash this at plus money — a strong value pick. We like the chances and the odds, this bet is a good one to make.

Cale Makar Over 0.5 Assists

  • Player Prop Odds: -162

Makar has been an assist machine lately. In fact, he’s recorded at least 1 in each of his last 6 games. He’s setting up plays left and right and with his spot on the Av’s top power play line, he’s in a good spot to get another.

He leads Colorado’s defensive unit in offensive production and quarterbacks the power play which makes him a near lock to keep the streak going.

Against Chicago, Makar should have plenty of chances to rack up assists as the Blackhawks are not a good team this year. The Blackhawks rank among the bottom 5 in GA/G, and their PK is one of the weakest. If Colorado’s offense clicks tonight, and we think it will, we expect Makar to be a big reason why.

While the juice is a little higher than we’d like, it’s hard to argue against the numbers. Makar is one of the league’s best playmakers, and he’s been automatic in the assist column lately. If you can get past the juice, we think you should add this to your bet slip.

William Nylander Anytime Goalscorer

  • Player Prop Odds: +165

Nylander has been one of Toronto’s most consistent goal scorers, leading the team with 35 goals this season and tied for 2nd in the NHL. He faces Utah tonight, a team that has struggled defensively and allows a lot of high-danger scoring chances. We simply don’t see tonight being a night he doesn’t get on the board.

With Toronto slightly favored and their top line rolling, Nylander should see plenty of quality chances. He’s been in strong form, gets the ice time, puts shots on the goal, and his power-play usage only increases his scoring potential.

At +165, we’re getting a nice payout for a player who has the ability to score in any given matchup — especially against Utah. Given Utah’s defensive issues, this is a great plus-money bet to round out the slate.

The Best NHL Player Prop Picks for your Bet Slip

Tonight’s 4-pack of player props offers a mix of strong trends and value picks even with some juice sprinkled in there.

Lucas Raymond’s under-prop is the safest bet based on his struggles, while Donato and Nylander’s overs bring solid plus-money upside to load up the bankroll. Makar remains a strong, consistent assist play in a favorable matchup as well.

Of course, the Nylander and Donato best can score out decently on their own, but if you were to pick all 4 with a 2 pick round robin at $5, you could walk away with a hefty $98.

It could be your night to score big.
