Jordan Montgomery headlines our list of FanDuel MLB props for Monday.
While most of the sports world is glued to the NBA and NHL Playoffs, we’re focusing on some MLB props. The money won on MLB regular season games is just as green as the money won on playoff basketball and hockey!
In today’s lineup, we have 2 hit parlays and a couple of strikeouts props. Let’s go 3-1 or better with these. Good luck!
Mike Trout is having yet another MVP-caliber start to his season. He is hitting .329, has homered 5 times, scored 15 runs, and knocked home 13 RBIs. Currently, he is on a 5-game hit streak and has picked up a hit in 7 of his last 8 games.
Tonight, he faces Ken Waldichuk of the Oakland As. Waldichuk has allowed 20 hits in 27 innings of work this season. In Trout’s career, he has hit successfully 4 of his 6 at-bats against Waldichuk, with one of them being a home run.
Alex Verdugo is quietly off to an amazing start to his 2023 season. In the BoSox’s 23 games this year, Verdugo has reached safely in all but 5 of those games. He is facing Dean Kramer, a right-handed pitcher of the Orioles, tonight, and that should be positive.
Verdugo is currently hitting .364 off righties compared to just .257 against lefties. And in his career, Verdugo is 6-16 against Kramer.
Devers is facing the same foe as Verdugo in Dean Kramer. Kramer has allowed more hits (20) than innings pitched this season (19).
Devers has had success against Kramer in the past, going 5 of 13 in his career. Also, like his teammate Verdugo, Devers is hitting righties at a higher rate than lefties.
Austin Hays is hitting just a tick under .300 on the season. Although he is coming off back-to-back 0 for nights, we have faith that he will come through in this spot. Previous to those 2 games, Hays had picked up at least a hit in 6 of his 7 days.
Urquidy has struggled over his last 2 starts to get batters to strike out. He has just 6 Ks over his last 10.1 innings of work.
Tonight, he faces the red-hot Tampa Bay Rays, who are 5th in the league in strikeouts per game (7.95). We believe there is a better chance of Urquidy getting run out early than there is of him going deep enough in this one to get a 5th K.
Montgomery, like Urquidy, has struggled to pick up Ks over his last 2 starts. However, his last 2 starts were against Pittsburgh and Arizona, who are 7th and 4th in Ks per game, respectively.
Tonight, he is facing the Giants, who are the worst team in the league at avoiding Ks. On average, they strike out just under 11 times per game, which is almost a full K more than the next team (Detroit).
