4 Anytime Touchdown Props for NFL Week 2: Will Daniels Run Wild?

The season-opening NFL action was hot and heavy with a few surprises along the way. Dallas won in Cleveland, which wasn’t a surprise. But the way the Cowboys dominated the Browns certainly was. As was the Falcons being upset by second-string quarterback Justin Fields.

The biggest surprise was New England upsetting the Cincinnati Bengals as the Patriots won Jerod Mayo’s debut as a head coach. While New England won’t appear on this list of anytime touchdown scorers anytime soon, their defense showed up in shutting Joe Burrow.

Which is the theme of this week’s predictions. We’ll avoid stout defenses – even if it’s just in the first week – to pick games where defense may be optional. Without further ado, here are this week’s “four sure” anytime NFL touchdown scorers.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (+115)

The New York Giants surrendered 28 points to Sam Darnold as the Minnesota Vikings romped the home team 28-6. Vikings running back Aaron Jones gashed the defense for 94 yards on 14 carries, showing the Giants’ weakness against strong runners.

Enter rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Last week, he averaged 5.5 yards per rush on 16 carries and scored two touchdowns with his feet against Tampa Bay. He’ll do something similar to this on Sunday and cover this player prop bet.

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (+130)

The Green Bay Packers defense was dreadful against the Philadelphia Eagles as the NFC East team, allowing Philly to run for 144 yards on 38 carries and score two touchdowns on the ground in their matchup last week.

An extra day of preparation won’t help the Packers with Indy RB Jonathan Taylor coming to town. Last week, he scored a touchdown en route to a 29-27 loss to the Houston Texans. This week, he’ll do the same again to power the Colts’ running attack.

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby (+310)

Cleveland looked dreadful on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys and aged veteran in Ezekiel Elliott. The 29-year-old runner scored a touchdown on 10 carries and averaged four yards per rush.

That doesn’t bode well for the Browns in their matchup against running backs Tank Bigsby and Travis Etienne Jr. this week. The Jaguars – who used draft picks to get Travis Lawrence help – relied more on the rushing game against the Miami Dolphins than their quarterback.

If Jacksonville does the same this week, it’s hard not to see Bigsby finish the game with his first NFL touchdown this season. Bigsby earned equal time with Etienne last week, another strong indicator he’s in line to score on Sunday.

Los Angeles Chargers TE Hayden Hurst (+380)

When it comes to “four sure” picks, we’re not afraid to dig deep into the underdog pool to give you the best candidates. That’s what we’re doing here with the Chargers tight end Hayden Hurst as he’s set at +380 for this weekend to score a touchdown.

Our confidence is in the Carolina Panthers’ porous defense continuing to look that way again. Last week, Carolina allowed 47 points to the Saints, and two – yes, two! – tight ends scored for New Orleans in the beatdown. Put Hurst on your short list of player prop underdog bet must-haves this week.
