We like Lance Lynn to rack up some strikeouts on Friday night!
It’s been a rough week for our strikeout props after a nice 2-week run. In case you didn’t know, betting MLB props is a major league roller coaster. You just have to stay the course and not get too high or too low.
Let’s right the ship today with 2 MLB strikeout props for Friday, July 21. Good luck with all of your action on the diamond. Let’s start the weekend off right.
Don’t overthink this one! Lynn is having a terrible year, as evidenced by his ERA that’s over 6! However, the big fella still knows how to rack up strikeouts, as his K-rate is among the best in the league at 27.7%.
Lynn’s median number is only 6 strikeouts through 19 starts this season. However, that number doesn’t take into account just how strikeout prone this Minnesota lineup is. We saw Luis Castillo and George Kirby both carve up the Twins like they were a Thanksgiving Day turkey.
The Twins have 6 hitters with a strikeout rate above 25%. Our numbers project Lynn to wind up with 8 Ks in this one. Take the Over with confidence!
Here’s another Over that we just can’t resist! Seattle strikes out 26% of the time, and Kikuchi has a decent K-rate of his own at 24.4% (58th percentile). His median number is 5, but we’d bump that up a couple of notches with the M’s K-heavy lineup.
Seattle has 4 guys with a K-rate of 25.2% or higher. Over the last 7 days, the Mariners have struck out 29.2% of the time. Kikuchi has gone over 5.5 Ks in 3 of his last 5 starts.
For the season, the 32-year-old is 9-7 to the Over. We’ll ride that solid trend to the bank tonight!
