Our favorite MLB prop of the day is on Hunter Brown of the Astros.
Brandon Williamson busted our Under by half a strikeout yesterday to end our modest winning streak at 5 in a row! We still can’t believe the Reds brought him back into the game after the rain delay. Still though, it’s hard to complain with a 5-1 props record for the week!
Oh well, it’s time to start a new hot streak. Here are 2 MLB PrizePicks props for Friday, July 7. Let’s go to work!
This is our favorite K prop on today’s MLB board. Brown has a live arm and is averaging 6.43 strikeouts per start this season. He’s also gone over this K total in 2 of his last 3 starts.
PrizePicks is being awfully generous by listing this at 6 instead of 6.5 like all of the sportsbooks. Heck, if you want to bet this one straight up, FanDuel currently has it at +124 at 6.5.
Not only does Brown have dynamic stuff, but his opponent (the Mariners) strikes out a ton of times each game. Seattle has 5 everyday players that strike out at least 25.4% of the time.
Lynch is more of a finesse pitcher, which is why we love betting on him to stay Under this total number of Ks. The 6-6 lefty has only struck out 28 hitters in his 4 starts in 2023.
That may come out to 4 Ks per start, but that doesn’t scare us in the least because his K-rate this season is only 16%. Lynch’s opponent, the Guardians, puts the ball in play better than any team not named the Nationals.
Cleveland has 5 everyday players that strike out 16% of the time or less. The Guardians have also been lighting up left-handed pitchers of late. They’re averaging 8.6 runs per 9 innings vs lefties over their last 5 games. Lynch could make an early exit in this one! Good luck!
