We like Kaidon Salter and Liberty to take down Middle Tennessee State on Tuesday night.
If you have the Tuesday blues thinking that there’s no football on tonight, think again. College football gives us 3 games to indulge in on October 17, and we’re ready to roll with 2 best bets. Sit back, grab an Underdog Fantasy Bonus or even a FanDuel Promo Code and start placing those bets. Good luck!
The 4-2 Hilltoppers have been going about their business in twos. After winning their 1st two games over USF and Houston Baptist, they then lost to OSU and Troy. They then took on MTST and La Tech where they picked up their 3rd and 4th wins of the season.
Leading 35-7 at the half last week, WKY allowed 21 unanswered points from La Tech in the 2nd half to finish the game 35-28. Austin Reed threw 3 touchdowns, all of them going to Malachi Corley who finished with 8 receptions and 207 yards to go with those 3 touchdowns. They had trouble keeping Tyre Shleton, La Tech running back, in check as he finished with 118 yards and 2 scores on just 21 carries.
The Jaguars are 5-2 on the season after losing 31-13 last week to Liberty. Three QBs saw time and combined for no touchdowns and 2 interceptions. They were unable to keep the Flames’ rushing attack at bay as they finished with over 245 yards on the ground.
Despite struggling offensively last game, the Jaguars are still 31st in the country in yards per game on the ground (204). They will need that type of run game here against the Hilltoppers.
Both teams will be looking to establish the run and control the time of possession. Neither team is likely to take too many downfield shots and risk turning the ball over. This is going to be an ugly grind-it-out type of game where the under makes the most sense to play
The 31-23 victory over La Tech that MTST is coming off is only good enough to bring them to just 2-5 on the year. They have been getting outscored by their opponents by an average of over 9 points per game.
Nicholas Vattiato continues to lead by example as he finished with 2 touchdowns and no interceptions while completing nearly 80% of his passes in the victory over La Tech. Defensively, they held La Tech to under 80 yards rushing.
The Flames remain undefeated as they defeated Jacksonville State 31-13 last week. The offense is ranked 38th in the country while the defense sits in 34th position. The running attack, led by Cooley and Salter has this Flames rushing offense ranked 7th in the country.
They are also converting to 50% of their 3rd down conversion attempt. Kaidon Salter has also been lighting up through the air when he’s not picking up yardage with his legs.
The last home game for the Flames was a scary one as they narrowly defeated an inferior Sam Houston State team. We like Liberty to contain the rushing game of the Blue Raiders here and win in blowout fashion here at home. Lay the points!
