2 College Football Best Bets for Friday, December 27: Brooks Takes Aim at Hogs Defense!

Happy Friday College Football Fans! As we watch Oklahoma/Navy get ready to kick off we have locked in 2 college bowl picks for this evening! We have a 5 game slate today and the games are starting to crank up in talent.

As we get into the games with better teams and better athletes we should continue to see exciting finishes. We have already seen numerous comebacks and showdowns over the last few nights, and I don’t expect anything different today!

Texas Tech & Brooks Should Find Victory

Texas Tech has flipped to the favorite in this matchup as you could have grabbed some + points earlier in the week. I am okay following this trend and I believe the line movement is right in this game. Tech should have the advantage as Arkansas struggled down the stretch, losing four of their last 6, and 3 of their last 4 games overall.

Tech on the other hand comes in winning 3 of their last 4 games and won their last 2 games of the season dropping 50+ points in both games. And while Arkansas averaged 30 points this season, I believe they have too many players missing on offense to be that efficient. Tech finished 5th in the country with 39 points per game and found success in the air and the ground.

Not only does Arkansas have to worry about the 9th ranked passing attack in the country, where Tech averaged 298 passing yards per game, they also have one of the best running backs in the country. Arkansas was tough against the run for most of the season, but I do believe Tahj Brooks, over four quarters, will wear down this Arkansas defense and punish them with tough running.

Texas A&M Going Wrong Direction!

Texas A&M lost 3 of their last 4 games coming into bowl season, as USC was gaining momentum winning 3 of their last 4 games before losing to a top 5 team in the country. Texas A&M also was struggling down the stretch moving the ball, averaging just 4 yards per carry, and are now missing Le’Veon Moss, their leading back.

Texas A&M also allowed an average of 30 points per game on the road this season, which may find a hard time slowing down a USC team that averaged 30 per game and was able to find 27+ points in 8 of their games this season. USC was able to average almost 6.5 yards per play and I believe they will find similar success in this game.

USC also had a nice turnaround on defense this season, coming into this game allowing less than 5.5 yards per play, while holding teams under 24 points. USC has the athletes, talent, and in a great spot coming off that top 5 loss to their rival Notre Dame. I believe they can keep this game within reach, if not find an outright victory tonight!

My Best Bets (2):
Texas Tech ML (-135)

USC +3.5 (-115)
