Chargers at Jets: Best Bets for Monday Night Football

Week 9 of the NFL season wraps up with a showdown between the Chargers and Jets on Monday Night Football. The Chargers have been a bit of a disappointment to start the year, but the Jets have been a pleasant surprise, even with a backup QB.

Cap off Week 9 with some best bets for Monday Night Football. Let us help you get on the right side of Chargers at Jets. Good luck!

Los Angeles Chargers @ New York Jets UNDER 40.5

The 4-3 Chargers are coming off a 30-13 win over the Chicago Bears that allowed them to avoid a 3-game losing streak. While they themselves were held to just 54 rushing yards, they were able to hold the Beard to just 73 yards on the ground.

Austin Ekeler grabbed 7 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown and was the main story of the game. The Chargers as a team have done a solid job putting up points but have also allowed a decent amount as well. They are currently ranked 9th in scoring (24.9ppg) and 24th in points allowed (24ppg).

The Jets are riding a 3-game winning streak after they defeated their in-state rivals, the Giants 13-10. While it was not an entertaining game to watch, the Jets were happy with the outcome. That seems to be the trend with most of their wins this season.

Getting things done ugly by keep the opposition uncomfortable on offense has been their key. They rank 8th in points allowed per game with just 18.4ppg. Offensively, once Aaron Rodgers went down in the opener, most knew that scoring would be at a premium. They currently are averaging just 18ppg which is 26th in the league.

At home this season, the Jets are averaging a total score of just 34. That number is a full touchdown and extra point away from the total we are getting here.

Herbert has been inconsistent ever since his hand injury and the Jets defense looks like they are rounding into form with Sauce Gardner back on the field. We believe this will be like most Jets home games in which both offenses struggle and 1 big play will be the difference.

Key Trends:

  • The total has gone UNDER in 5 of LA Chargers’ last 5 games.
  • The total has gone UNDER in 5 of LA Chargers’ last 6 games played on a Monday.
  • The total has gone UNDER in 9 of NY Jets’ last 12 games.
  • The total has gone UNDER in 5 of NY Jets’ last 6 games at home.

MNF Props

It’s always more fun to sprinkle in a few player props during the primetime games. We always look to play at least 3 bonus bets during TNF, SNF, and MNF. Here are the 3 we settled on below.

  • Ekeler has gone over this total in 3 of his 4 games this season.
  • He is coming off a 7 catch and 94 yard receiving game last week.

Zach Wilson UNDER 215.5 Passing Yards -115

  • Wilson has gone over this total just twice in 7 games this season.
  • He is only averaging 191 passing yards per game.

Breece Hall OVER 74.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards -140

  • Hall has gone over this total in 4 straight games.
  • He is averaging 90.3 total yards per game on the season.
