Boomer’s Sportsbook Approved for Four Queens, Binion’s; Circa Adding 49 Hotel Rooms

Boomer’s Sportsbook is expanding its Las Vegas footprint after receiving approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board on Wednesday to open new locations inside the Four Queens hotel-casino and Binion’s Gambling Hall on Fremont Street. The independent sportsbook operator, led by president and CEO Joe Asher, expects to open both downtown locations on Sept. 1, just ahead of the NFL season, pending final sign-off from the Nevada Gaming Commission later this month.

The approvals mark the 17th and 18th Boomer’s locations cleared by Nevada regulators, continuing a rapid rollout for a sportsbook brand that launched just over a year ago. Asher has said the company is targeting at least 20 locations in the coming months, and downtown Las Vegas represents a significant new front in that expansion, replacing William Hill’s current operation of the sportsbooks at both properties.

A Personal Return to Fremont Street for Asher

The Four Queens sportsbook is being relocated and expanded as part of the deal, with Asher noting the new space will run about 125 to 150 square feet larger than the current setup and will offer improved viewing and seating for bettors. Binion’s sportsbook will stay in its existing location, but the switch to the Boomer’s brand brings the operator to a property with deep historical ties to sports wagering in Las Vegas.

For Asher, the move carries some personal significance. He has said Four Queens was one of the sportsbooks he visited while first learning the business, well before he launched Brandywine Bookmaking in 2007 and long before Boomer’s became Nevada’s fastest-growing independent sportsbook. The company celebrated its one-year anniversary this past weekend with 15 locations statewide, and the addition of Four Queens and Binion’s will push that total to 17 once both are operational.

Circa Adds Two Hotel Floors as Part of Broader Downtown Investment

The same Gaming Control Board meeting that cleared Boomer’s expansion also brought news for Circa Hospitality Group, which operates Circa, Golden Gate and The D in downtown Las Vegas. The company received approval for a refinancing package that officials said will give it more flexibility to invest in operations across its properties.

Circa also provided an update on its ongoing room expansion, with the company expecting to complete a project this month that adds 49 hotel rooms across the top two floors of the resort. When Circa first opened, seven hotel floors were intentionally left unfinished so the company could gauge future room demand before committing to build them out. Four of those floors were completed in 2024, and the remaining two are set to debut this month, bringing the property closer to its full room count.

What It Means for Bettors and Sports Bettors Downtown

The combination of a growing independent sportsbook operator and continued room expansion at Circa signals sustained investment in downtown Las Vegas as a sports betting destination outside the resort corridor. Bettors who frequent Fremont Street can expect a larger, upgraded Four Queens sportsbook by early September, timed perfectly for the start of NFL action, while Binion’s keeps its footprint but gains the operational backing of one of the state’s fastest-growing brands.

Boomer’s continued march toward its goal of 20-plus locations also reflects a broader trend of independent operators carving out space in a Nevada sports betting market long dominated by larger, multi-property books. As NFL season approaches, bettors tracking the best sportsbook reviews and looking to compare options will have two more downtown venues to consider once the Nevada Gaming Commission finalizes its approval this month.
