Guardians vs. Yankees: 3 MLB Player Props for Tuesday, October 15

Happy Tuesday, baseball fans! We were treated to two fantastic games yesterday, with the New York Mets coming out with a statement win over the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the New York Yankees got the job done against the Cleveland Guardians.

There’s only one game on the slate tonight- Game 2 between the Guardians and the Yankees. It will be an interesting matchup considering the starting pitchers, Tanner Bibee and Gerrit Cole are facing off.

We’re excited to see it all go down, especially since we’ve put together our favorite player props from Underdog to make the action a bit more fun! We went 2 for 3 yesterday, but let’s turn things around with a full sweep tonight!

Tanner Bibee UNDER 13 Pitching Outs

Tanner Bibee did win his two starts against the Detroit Tigers in the ALDS, which might make some people think he’s going to do the same tonight against the Yankees.

We’re not so sure about that. Bibee did win his two starts over the Tigers, but he only pitched 4 innings in one game, and 4.2 innings in the other.

The Guardians don’t hesitate to pull their starters at the first sign of danger, and the Yankees certainly have a lot of dangerous hitters in their lineup. We think the Bronx Bombers are going to jump all over Bibee at the beginning of this game, meaning he’ll last less than 13 total pitching outs.

Gerrit Cole UNDER 5.5 Strikeouts

Gerrit Cole looked great in both of his outings against the Kansas City Royals in the ALDS. He won both, but only struck out four batters in both games.

The Guardians have great plate discipline, and similarly to the Royals, don’t tend to strikeout a lot. With that in mind, we’re anticipating Cole to have more groundouts than strikeouts, which is why we’re taking the under in this spot.

Lane Thomas OVER 0.5 Total Bases

We took this line for Lane Thomas yesterday, but unfortunately, he didn’t cash in on it. While that could steer some people away from him today, we’re going back to the well.

Thomas has been far too good during the playoffs to go two games without a hit, and we’re more than willing to take a chance on him. The Guardians trust him in the No. 4 spot for a reason, so look for a big bounce back in the heart of their order.
