2 PrizePicks MLB Props for Thursday, April 13

We had a nice 2-0 sweep with our NBA player props last night. Patrick Williams and Fred VanVleet both went over their points and 3-pointer props, respectively. Since there’s no NBA tonight, let’s turn our attention to Major League Baseball.

We found 2 PrizePicks MLB props for Thursday, April 13. One involves the Detroit vs. Toronto game, while the other involves the Pittsburgh vs. St. Louis matchup. Let’s make it back-to-back sweeps! Good luck!

Chris Bassitt UNDER 2.5 Earned Runs

Bassitt got shelled by the Cardinals in his first start of 2023 back on April 2nd, which makes this play a little scary. However, he bounced back nicely in his 2nd start on April 7th by only allowing 2 runs on 2 hits through 6 innings against the Angels.

The 6-5 217-pound right-hander has a sinker that’s hard to handle when he’s on. As long as Bassitt has that pitch working, we don’t think Detroit will be able to do much damage against him tonight. The Tigers rank 30th in both runs per game and batting average (.198).

Bassitt should be able to keep most of the Tigers’ hitters off balance. Outside of Miguel Cabrera and Javy Baez, none of the other hitters have done much against Bassitt in their careers. We’ll ride with the Under, especially since Caesars has this priced at -164.

Nolan Gorman OVER 0.5 Total Bases

This one almost looks too easy! Gorman’s 2023 season is off to a fantastic start. The 22-year-old third baseman is batting .313 with 4 home runs and 10 runs batted in so far.

Gorman and the Cards will be facing Vince Velasquez, who is one of the Pirates’ shakiest starters. Velasquez has been getting lit up like a pinball machine this season. He’s 0-2 with a 9.82 ERA and a WHIP of 2.18.

Velasquez turned his ankle during his last start, so you have to wonder how that’ll affect him tonight against this powerful Cardinals lineup. He struggled with his command during his last outing, as only 44 of his 75 pitches were for strikes. We think Gorman gets at least 1 base hit in this game, so take the Over!

Caesars is juicing this Over at -141, which is a sign that the Over is the more likely outcome. DraftKings is right behind them with a price of -135 on the Over. Let’s find another 2-0 sweep!
