Tennessee at Oklahoma Betting Guide: Odds, Predictions, and Our Best Bet

One of the best matchups of college football Week 4 features the Tennessee Vols and the Oklahoma Sooners. We’ve got the odds, predictions, and a best bet! This should be a fun one to watch, folks!

Sooners Get Their First Taste of SEC Play

The #15 ranked Oklahoma Sooners will host the #6 ranked Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday night in Norman, Oklahoma. After an easy 51-3 victory over Temple in their opener, Oklahoma struggled against Houston at home in week two and was lucky to walk away with a 16-12 victory.

Not only that, but they also led Tulane by just 5 points early in the 4th quarter last week before Jackson Arnold ran in a 24-yard touchdown and then added a late field goal to give the Sooners a 34-19 win. Arnold has been most of the offense as he has thrown for 160 yards per game while leading the team in rushing as well. He has accounted for 9 total touchdowns and thrown just 2 interceptions.

Vols Have Been On Fire

The Vols have made short work of all 3 of their opponents this season. NCST was ranked 24th when they faced this Vols team and were sent packing with a 51-10 beating. Tennessee has outscored opponents by a total of 191-13. Easily the largest average margin of victory by any team in the country.

Nico Iamaleava has his name in the Heisman mix as he has been completing over 71% of his passes for 232 yards per game through the air and 34 rushing yards per game. He has 7 touchdowns and just 1 interception. Sampson and Bishop have combined for 579 yards of rushing on 67 carries through 3 games and will test the Sooners defensive front in this matchup.

Best Bet: Tennessee -7

Oklahoma has been playing down to the level of their competition lately and now will face one of the best offenses in the country. Understated has been the Vols defense but they will be the difference in this game.

We like them to shut down Jackson Arnold and make the Sooners look much less of a team than their #15 ranking. Vols take their show on the road and get an easy victory here in Norman. Don’t overthink this one. Lay the points with confidence!

Key Trends for Vols at Sooners:

  • Tennessee is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games.
  • Tennessee is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games played in September.
  • Oklahoma is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games played on a Saturday.
  • Oklahoma is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games played in week 4.
