Seattle at Chicago Betting Preview: 3 Player Props for Thursday Night Football

After a pair of blowouts on Christmas Day, the action for Week 17 continues with a potentially better matchup when the Seattle Seahawks (8-7) travel east in search of a win against the Chicago Bears (4-11).

With two games remaining in the season, Seattle is alive for both a wild card spot and the NFC West division. The Seahawks have lost two straight games, allowing the Los Angeles Rams to overtake them in the division standings.

The Bears are entering this contest with nothing to play for this season after being officially eliminated from playoff consideration two weeks ago. Chicago is also without a head coach as Matt Eberflus was fired following the Thanksgiving Day debacle against the Detroit Lions.

Which team will end its losing streak on Thursday night? We’ll cover that and our three favorite player prop bets for this Thursday Night Football matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the Chicago Bears.

Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams UNDER 215.5 Passing Yards

The Bears selected quarterback Caleb Williams with the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, taking a signal-caller the team hoped to blossom into a franchise player. While Williams has had an up-and-down season, the former Heisman winner has shown signs of being able to do just that.

Seattle has allowed four of the previous five opponents to surpass Williams’ passing-prop mark, yielding at least 229 yards in those matchups. While it’s not unreasonable to believe Williams can achieve this figure, his last outing was a 340-yard performance against Detroit.

Through 15 games, Williams has only once had back-to-back games above 200 yards. That should give bettors confidence to take the under on this prop bet despite the Seahawks’ porous passing defense.

Seattle Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf OVER 59.5 Receiving Yards

Seattle has a strong receiving duo in Jaxon Smith-Njigba and D.K. Metcalf. Smith-Njigba has topped the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the first time in his second season while Metcalf is 103 yards away from doing so for the fourth time in the past five seasons.

Chicago has allowed two wide receivers to have strong games against them in back-to-back games, yielding at least 63 yards to two different wide receivers during this stretch. A third straight outing would be the longest streak against Chicago this season, so bettors should expect the Bears to target Smith-Njigba and allow Metcalf to cover this prop bet.

Chicago Bears RB D’Andre Swift OVER 56.5 Rushing Yards

The Bears wanted to build a strong offensive unit around their No. 1 draft pick, so Chicago added one of the best available free agents last year in running back D’Andre Swift. After a slow start to the season, Swift has over 1,190 total offensive yards in 15 games.

He has an outside chance of reaching 1,000 rushing yards in the next two games, needing 159 yards to eclipse that figure. Seattle has allowed one runner to eclipse the 60-yard mark in four straight games, giving Swift an excellent chance to become the fifth consecutive player to achieve this tonight.

Best Bet: OVER 42.5 Points

Chicago entered the season with its defensive unit looking like its strongest asset. But in four of the team’s five previous games, the Bears have surrendered at least 30 points. Chicago has yielded at least 19 points in every game played in the past two months.

While Seattle isn’t setting the world on fire offensively, their defensive unit is not a strong group. The Seahawks have given up 27 or more points in their past three games, giving bettors confidence that the final score of this game will be above 43 total points.
