Padres-Brewers NLDS Game 2 Same Game Parlay: Beginner-Friendly Picks for Sunday

Game 2 of the NLDS is here, and the Milwaukee Brewers already have a leg up after a tight 3-2 win in Game 1. First pitch at American Family Field is set for 4:00 PM ET on FS1, with the Brewers back home riding the best record in baseball (103-59) against a Padres club that just won’t go away (91-71, fresh off a Wild Card sweep). If you’re new to same-game parlays, this is a great spot to learn the format — we’re walking through three simple legs from one game, all tied together into a single bet.

San Diego sends ace Michael King to the mound, a guy who took a no-hitter into the seventh inning in the Wild Card Series and owns a 2.05 career postseason ERA. Milwaukee counters with 24-year-old Logan Henderson, who posted an 11-3 record and a sparkling 2.47 ERA in his first full season and has never allowed more than three runs in any of his 23 career starts. The Brewers are -143 favorites with the total sitting at 7.5 runs — a number that tells you both lineups expect to find some runs even against two quality arms.

Leg 1: Logan Henderson Strikeouts

Henderson’s strikeout total for today is set at 6.5, priced at -102 for the over and -126 for the under — basically a coin flip according to the books, which is exactly why it’s worth digging a little deeper. He racked up 110 strikeouts across his first full MLB season, a strong number for a pitcher who only turned 24 this year, and the sportsbooks even have a separate strikeout milestone market offering him 7+ strikeouts at plus-money (+100).

The matchup helps his cause. San Diego’s lineup strikes out at a solid clip, and Henderson has shown he can work deep into games without the big red flags — no start all year where he allowed more than three runs. For a beginner-friendly pick, we like the over on his strikeouts: a pitcher this efficient, protecting a 1-0 series lead at home, should get the chance to go six-plus innings and rack up whiffs along the way.

Leg 2: Fernando Tatis Jr. to Record a Hit

Tatis is priced at -218 to record at least one hit today, and even though that’s a short price, it’s the kind of “glue” leg that holds a beginner parlay together. He’s hitting .289 on the season with a .470 slugging percentage, and he’s one of the most dangerous bats in this entire series. Facing a 24-year-old righty making just his first career postseason start, Tatis is squarely the player San Diego needs to step up, and recent form backs that up — Padres teammate Xander Bogaerts is 12-for-31 over his last 10 games, and that kind of lineup heat tends to be contagious.

Think of this leg as the “safety net” of the parlay — a star hitter, a short number, and a role (leadoff/top-of-order bat) that all but guarantees him three or four at-bats to get it done.

Leg 3: Brewers Team Total Over 3.5 Runs

The last leg leans into Milwaukee’s lineup depth. Brewers hitters are batting a collective .259 as a team, the best mark in all of MLB, and they’re doing it with thump up and down the order — Jackson Chourio is hitting .291 with 25 extra-base hits worth of pop, and Brice Turang has quietly driven in 100 runs this season. The team total over for Milwaukee sits at 3.5 runs at -120, and against a Padres pitching staff that’s already worked plenty of high-leverage innings this October, we like the home team’s offense to clear that number at home in a game they’re favored to win outright at -143.

The Full Parlay

Here’s the beginner-friendly same-game parlay for Padres-Brewers NLDS Game 2: Logan Henderson over 6.5 strikeouts, Fernando Tatis Jr. to record a hit, and the Milwaukee Brewers team total over 3.5 runs. Each leg leans on something real — Henderson’s strikeout stuff against a swing-happy lineup, Tatis being too good a hitter to go silent in an elimination-adjacent game, and a Brewers offense that’s been the best in baseball all year finishing the job at home.
