NFL Week 1 Betting Guide: Top Player Props for Sunday, September 7

Week 1 is right around the corner, following the Eagles’ victory on Thursday Night Football against Dallas. Looking at some of the best prop bets in Week 1, let’s trust two veteran wideouts to serve as safety blankets for their new QBs as underdogs in their opening matchup.

Calvin Ridley (TEN) OVER 4.5 Receptions

The Titans take on one of the best defenses in the league in Denver during Week 1 action this Sunday. While Nix and the Broncos are favored by more than a touchdown, this will be a big opportunity for Cam Ward to show us what he’s got in a game where he doesn’t have a lot to lose. Calvin Ridley is his top target and with a positive game script, could have a 7 or 8 catch day away from home. Getting targeted 120 times last season with an awful QB room, look for Ridley to come out of the gate hot this year.

Cooper Kupp (SEA) OVER 3.5 Receptions

Cooper Kupp returns to his home state to potentially finish out his incredible career as Seattle opens up their season as underdogs against San Francisco. With Sam Darnold coming in to replace Geno Smith, I love this matchup for Kupp as the offense will look to get him involved early and often. While JSN is the focal point of this offense, Kupp will be a go-to short-yardage receiver for Darnold in a similar way Jordan Addison was last season at times in the red zone. In front of the home crowd, I’m banking on a big Week 1 from the veteran wideout.

Chris Olave (NO) UNDER 51.5 Receiving Yards

With Arizona’s improved defensive core, New Orleans’ quarterback troubles, and Olave playing in his first game since Week 8 of 2024, I’m going against the WR1 in their season opener against the Cardinals. Olave will get a mix of Max Melton, Will Johnson, and Garrett Williams in Week 1 as Rattler will look to settle in as the starter for this bottom-tier Saints offense. While Olave might get 5+ targets in this one, I don’t expect many big yardage plays from this offense and Olave as he gets his footing back.
