Louisville at Notre Dame: Live Odds, Top Predictions, and Best Bet for Saturday, September 28

Will Notre Dame get some sweet revenge on Louisville this Saturday? Find out below in our betting preview, which includes odds, predictions, and a best bet. Best of luck, folks!

Can the Cards Stay Undefeated?

Undefeated Louisville will march into Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday afternoon for a matchup with the #16 Irish. The Cardinals, now #15 in the country are 3-0 and coming off an impressive 31-19 win over Georgia Tech last week.

Texas Tech transfer Tyler Shough has been great at QB for the Cardinals to this point. He is completing nearly 70% of his passes for over 280 yards per game and has tossed 8 touchdowns without throwing an interception.

Louisville is ranked 12th in the country in scoring (47.3ppg) and 18th in points allowed (11ppg). That said, this will clearly be their toughest test of the young season against Notre Dame.

Will the Irish Defense Remain Stingy?

The Fighting Irish have looked as good as possible after suffering the brutal upset loss to Northern Illinois. They have defeated Purdue and Miami Ohio by a combined score of 94-10.

QB Riley Leonard has been using his legs to decimate defenses over their last 2 games. He went for 100 yards and 3 touchdowns on 11 carries against Purdue and followed that up with 143 yards on 12 carries and 2 touchdowns against Miami Ohio.

His ability to keep defenses guessing with his legs has been a boost to this Irish offense. The defense has been nothing to sneeze at either. They held Purdue to just 162 total yard and Miami Ohio to 229.

Best Bet: Notre Dame Fighting Irish -6

Notre Dame has only USC left on their schedule in terms of ranked teams after this matchup with Louisville. They are going to be treating this game like a playoff game and should be eager to make a statement to get people over the upset loss to NIU.

We expect Riley Leonard to have his best game of the season and put this Louisville defense on skates and make them pay with both his legs and arm. The Irish will get a much-needed win over a ranked team here and cover the number.

Key Trends:

  • Louisville is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games played on a Saturday when playing on the road.
  • Notre Dame is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games.
  • Notre Dame is 12-2 ATS in their last 14 games against an opponent in the Atlantic Coast conference.
  • Notre Dame is 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games when playing as the favorite.
