Giants vs. Eagles: What Prediction Markets Say About a Sunday Showdown in Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Eagles were supposed to be the class of the NFC East. Instead, they host the New York Giants on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field sitting at 2-6 with six straight losses, and prediction markets are pricing the visitors as the more likely winner. The Giants sit around 58.5% to win on the moneyline, while the Eagles are priced near 41.5%.

Why the Market Likes the Giants

Those numbers come from public prediction markets, where traders put real money behind who they think wins. It is one of the busiest sports markets of the day, with roughly $1 million traded in the last 24 hours. Sportsbooks agree with the direction: New York is a small road favorite, around -3 on the spread with a total near 38.5, and the moneyline sits close to Giants -159 and Eagles +136.

What makes that notable is where the line started. It opened with Philadelphia as a 5.5-point favorite and a total of 44.5, so the swing toward New York has been enormous. When a line moves that far, it usually means something changed on the injury report or at quarterback, and both are true here. Eagles in Turmoil, Giants on the Rise

Philadelphia is 2-6 both straight up and against the spread, and it comes in off a 27-10 loss at Washington. Jalen Hurts is on injured reserve and is expected to miss the rest of the season, and Tanner McKee was benched after going 0-3 as the starter. That leaves Joe Milton III, who arrived three weeks ago, to make his first NFL start. He has a big arm and plenty of athleticism, but the market clearly has questions about what that means against a defense that has been playing well.

New York is 4-2-1, in first place in the NFC East, and 5-2 against the spread. The Giants are coming off a bye after a 27-21 overtime win at Houston, a game where Cam Skattebo ran for 124 yards and a touchdown. Skattebo is listed as doubtful with a hamstring issue this week, which is worth watching. J.J. McCarthy, acquired from Minnesota in September, is set to make his second start for the Giants with Jaxson Dart out for the season after knee surgery.

A Streak That Has Lasted a Decade

History is the one thing pointing Philadelphia’s way. The Eagles have beaten the Giants 13 straight times at home, including a playoff win, dating back to New York’s last victory in Philadelphia on Oct. 27, 2013. The Giants have also lost four of their last six meetings overall, including a 38-20 loss on Oct. 26, 2025.

The matchup on paper is not what it used to be, though. The Giants allow just 192.1 passing yards per game, third best in the league, while the Eagles give up 244, which ranks 21st. Against a first-time starter at quarterback, that gap could matter. Both teams struggle to stop the run, with New York ranked 26th and Philadelphia 28th, so expect Saquon Barkley to get his touches. He averages 65.8 rushing yards per game against a prop line of 54.5.

What the Spread Markets Say

The same market tells a slightly more cautious story on margin. Traders price the Giants at about 52.5% to cover -2.5 and about 43.5% to cover -3.5, which shows how much of the confidence sits right around a field goal. In other words, the market likes New York to win, but a close game is firmly on the table. If you are new to reading these numbers, our betting calculator is a simple way to turn odds into implied probability.

The Giants are 7-3 against the spread over their last ten games, while the Eagles are just 3-7 against the spread over the same stretch. With a total this low, one turnover or a defensive touchdown could swing the result.

The Bottom Line

Philadelphia has the home-field history and a motivated locker room, with Barkley saying the team still believes it can turn the season around. New York has the better record, the stronger defense against the pass, and a market that trusts it by a clear margin. A first-time starter facing a disruptive defense is a hard spot for any team, and that is what the roughly 58% price on the Giants is built on. Whether that decade of Eagles dominance at home finally breaks is the question to watch Sunday afternoon.
